The Grand Search For Lake Menderchuck

Ladies and Gentlemen,

I’ve spent the past decade searching high and low for Lake Menderchuck. One day, I dream that I, too, can catch a smallmouth bass. I’ve deployed all manners of devices to try and locate @A-Jay’s treasured watering hole. Drones. Trail cameras. Bribed birds. It took me the better part of several years  to prove that Lake Menderchuck is in the Northern United States. What victory. I called my Mom but she still wasn’t proud of me. But now, oh now. Wait till she hears what I’ve found now. I’ve really got the Michigan Poseidon cornered now. Oh yes. I found the STATE. That’s right. Folks, Lake Menderchuck is in MICHIGAN. 🤯. I anticipate that I will have the lake fully located by the year 2074. 💪🏻

Hint- all the Lake Menderchucks I fish are Public waterways.

Some have tournaments on them and others do not.

But they all have one very special characteristic in common . . . . . .

they are home to some brutes and few folks target them.

Doesn't make them any easier to find, and or catch,

it just lets them grow to what maybe their full potential.

I like that.

Finally, and I firmly believe this,

THERE ARE LAKE MENDERCHUCKS ALL OVER THE COUNTRY.

I’ll drop a pin on the boat ramps I use. You go figure it out from there. In fact I’ve posted some pics on here of very well known landmarks.  You may have a great day you may not. You also may not come back with a boat in one piece. The choice is yours and yours alone.

I am baffled at the images shown and cannot determine if these are meant to egg me on or to deceive me! If these images are true, they could take a whole three weeks off my search!

I'll help you narrow it down - he's not catching them on the Torch Lake Sandbar.  Good place to catch other things, though...

Michigan Smallmouth are always a riot wherever they're found!  The problem is the lakes there are oceans.  The good news is the fish get 6 months off from lures every year.

 

I betcha even with coordinates on a map and a handpicked selection of the perfect gear, I probably would blow it miserably trying to catch one of @A-Jay's fish!

 

Just drop me off at some big Michigan lake public park with bank access for one of those big old lakes and give me some of that titanium leader stuff.  I reckon I'd hook into something 😂😂😂

I got a buddy that catches pretty crazy numbers of big smallies in this one small spot. He showed me right where it is and I’ve got one 13” fish there lifetime

I have come to believe that Lake Menderchuck is not a body of water. It is a state of mind. If you commit yourself to the pursuit of bass, fully commit, and make it a life’s purpose, any lake can become a Menderchuck. 
 

Not everyone can achieve this state of high consciousness. One could fish 8-10 hours a day, every day, and own more tackle than TW, and still not reach this enhanced state of angling. It is not a sign of weakness. It does not make one unworthy. It is simply a reassurance that some of us, a few of us, have the strength of will and the desire to seek out the best of the best, and attain the goal that others dream of but cannot obtain. 
 

Lake Menderchuck. It is a siren song we all hear. We can listen to the melody, but cannot comprehend the lyrics. Do not be ashamed! Do not despair! Revel in the knowledge that some have unraveled its secrets and can share with us the fruits of their victory!
