corporate America is still the same. Every meeting is 3 meetings, sometimes 4 if there needs to follow up.

 

When I return from a trip I always put my boat back to the condition it needs to go back out. This way I never have to sweat if I have anything I need. The only things I double check are keys, boat plug, charged batteries and my lift vest is still in working order. At any moment I could find a window of opportunity to go fish and I dont want to waste part of it fiddling with crap that doesnt need to be rushed.

I have a checklist on my phone in ‘notes’ which has saved me a number of times. Everything that I need is in my truck but I still glance at it to be doubly sure.

I do it the night before.....that way I get in the truck and go....I still do a walk around in the morning.

My wife asks, "do you have your safety gear"?  Phone, life vest and epipen.

I use check lists when doing things ocasionally, saves many return trips to get what I forgot !  However, my boat is fully equipped with what I need and I keep it locally in my barn.  I fill my fuel tank on the way home if less than half a tank on the gage. I can get three fishing trips on a half tank so plenty of reserve there.  Between trips I am in my barn checking battery chargers, checking tire pressures, cleaning the boat etc.  It is always ready to go.  I keep my minnow bucket in my tow vehicle and my cooler sits by the back door.  Make my own ice, just grab my snacks and drinks, put ice in cooler, keep hats in boat along with sweat shirts, sunglasses so I don't need to remember any of that stuff.  Besides that, I am retired, so I go often...often enough it has become a habit.  Can't say I have forgotten anything in years.   First trip of the year I do have to double and triple check though.

I use two lists.  One for bank fishing and one for boat fishing.  Some of the items on the list are duplicates, but a lot of them are not.
