Branuss04 Posted August 27, 2007 Posted August 27, 2007 for me it's any "BPS" brand cranks. I bought some when they were 5 for $5 and they are sooooo badly tuned I gave up. Quote
MuchyMan Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 ive never had luck with yum crawbugs or swimbaits Quote
Guest the_muddy_man Posted August 29, 2007 Posted August 29, 2007 I bought some Bass Pro SHops brand lures way back, spinnerbaits and buzz. The spinnerbaits were absolute garbage. The felt like Sh!T and fished poor. The buzz was way over weighted for prop size and I missed so many fish. The hooks were really bad to put it nicely, and buzz head ended up breaking on be after a few trips. I also bought 2 PBS brand rods. Both were heavy and clunky. Never buy BPS brand gear unless you are not picky at all. Ah lets see: I have 2 BPS extreme reels, work great not a single problem, a BPS 6'6" Med Action Woo Davis Rod; Works and feels great caught a lot of fish on it all summer. I have 4 very beat up and highly sucessful BPS Bayou crank baits ( balsa model) ah , i don't get it :-/ Quote

I have caught a bunch of fish on 'em and they have been abused. My 4yr old used one as a dip net for minnows and we caught a bass on it right after. Try that with a Loomis and it won't be as pleasant an experience. ;D Now their lures....I still think they repel the fish, but I ain't sure. Quote
Jeff C. Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I see a lot of Fat Ika's on the list.. ?? I just started to pour my own.. (never bought any Yami's..yet, got 1 pk on order to compare to ) I got My PB yesterday on my own hand poured Fatty.. I now love-um.. Jeff Quote

Avalonjohn44 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 for me it's any "BPS" brand cranks. I would agree for the most part, but BPS has some new premium cranks that are packaged with a very similar look to Lucky Craft packaging, and they are located right next to the Lucky craft lures. The cranks look like knock-offs of the Rick Clunn shad bait, and they work very well. I use them in the potomac on smallmouth, and they crush them. They look like LCs and are half the price... Quote
Bass_Akwards Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 I tied an old sweaty basketball sock onto a nice gammy hook and used a 2 inch Senko(watermellon w/black flake) as a trailor. Didn't catch a d**n thing in 8 hours. Worst bait ever. Period. T Quote
Nick Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 A serious bad bait was the Vampire spinnerbait made by Mann's. That was a real crock! They also made a spinnebait with a jointed spoon for a blade. Durndest thing ever. Of course, Roland Martin's helicopter. And Berkley once made a leather porkfrog that was toughter than the siding on my house. This was about 20 years ago. LOL y'all. Quote
Avalonjohn44 Posted August 30, 2007 Posted August 30, 2007 Vampire spinnerbait made by Mann's. That reminds me of another bad bait by Mann's - The Undulater Spinner Bait. I'll never forgive Hank Parker for that thing. Quote
Super User Bassn Blvd Posted August 31, 2007 Super User Posted August 31, 2007 Well here's my "worst list"#1- Senko (worst bait ever produced imho) #2 Fat Ika (same as above) #3 Micro Munch Tackle Jig #4 Gizit Tubes When it comes to reels. Shimano's are crap. Rods- loomis is crap. And line. YO ZURI IS CRAP! 8-) Your eyes better be brown cause you are full of chit senko s are one of the best baits ever made at least for in central PA when nothin else works I can generally count on a senko rigged wacky. If senkos are so good then why would you use anything else? Quote
JVM Posted August 31, 2007 Posted August 31, 2007 -Dont fish my chatter blades often, but they've never produced? -I know they work, but buzzbaits don'twork for me. Maybe I should retire my $0.97 wal-mart specials and buy a real buzzbait. Any thoughts or suggestions? -Also, haven't caught anything on a beetle spin, but I know they work, and... -The Storm Swimbait seems to be the most consistently agreed upon piece of garbage. Quote
