Bandersnatch Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 Do you guys bend your hooks out and or boil your frogs at all? 1 Quote
MiceNReets Posted June 7, 2024 Posted June 7, 2024 I haven’t. But maybe I should. My hook up ratio in this frog is terrible. I upped my gave and got a steez bullfrog. 1.6oz frog lol Let’s see how this does. Got it mainly for pike and musky. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted June 8, 2024 Super User Posted June 8, 2024 I use the Spro bronze eye exclusively. Hookup ratio will never be mind boggling with a frog but let them suck on it awhile helps. Imo Quote

My hookup ratio with spro frogs and live target are just terrible everything else is no problems. Actually throw the Jackall kaera in the back hook up mix. 1 Quote
Bandersnatch Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 My hook up ratio with a Bobby’s perfect frog is seriously like 90%. I noticed this hook points on the king daddy are way tight, gonna need to bend em 1 Quote

But yeah try bending those king daddy hooks 1 Quote
Bandersnatch Posted June 8, 2024 Author Posted June 8, 2024 Before & after hook bend.I like the bend even though it’s a little aggressive, I mistakenly broke a barb though on the other side think the broke barb will matter? Quote

When I do lose a fish it's all operator error on the set but even thats rare. They last as well, durable.. 1 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted June 8, 2024 Global Moderator Posted June 8, 2024 I don’t like having to bend the hooks on a frog to help it to hook up. By doing that you’re increasing the chances of getting snagged or picking up grass with each cast. There’s a cause and effect for everything. Thats one of the reasons I use a Scum Frog exclusively. The body is one the softest available. No adjustment is need. Mike 2 Quote

Yep, Good Point. Especially on the original which I use exclusively except of course when using a popping one. Mike 1 Quote

No adjustments needed at all! I agree with the other users comments on the scum frog and Bobby’s perfect being the best out of the box for softness and hook up ratio. Particularly the snag proof Bobby’s perfect. I also agree that the scrum frog launch frog while having great hook up ratio tends to not cast as far as the Bobby’s perfect and I too attribute that too the soft vinel like body that catches air. If you look closing at the snag proof frog you’ll see that the hook bend is upward at towards the point and in my opinion mimics bent hooks while still having the points landing against the body to not create snags Quote
