Hello Y'all~!

Recently decided to pick up the hobby once again and surprisingly found my XT1000. Back in the days I was trying to cast lighter lures so it has a Yumeya Shallow spool and those smaller bearings (From hedgehog studios i believe).

I'm curious how much (BFS styled) baitcasters technology has improved over the years. How would my XT1000 with the shallow spool and bearings compare to today's modern reels?

What would the biggest benefit be from a modern reel?

Thank you~!

I have that reel and spool bit don't use it much.  It can't skip and doesn't do well with light weight baits that slow down rappidly or catch the air.  It does well with compact baits that cast like darts to take advantage of that free spinning spool.
