PawleysDude Posted June 4, 2024 Posted June 4, 2024 When I scanned thru this forum, it looks like a lot of folks are using the crossover rings for wacky rigs. I tried my first one today and thought I really liked it until I tried to remove the hook from the ring. Before I was done, I ended up destroying both the senko and the ring. What's the secret for sliding the hook out of the ring hole without it hanging on the barb? All suggestions are appreciated! Thanks! Quote
Super User Bird Posted June 5, 2024 Super User Posted June 5, 2024 I like VMC crossover rings so much that I buy them in bulk. You squeeze the the top and press down on hook to release them. I'm only using 1/16 heads. Why I like them so much is " if I don't snag " I can fish the same worm for hours and after many fish. .004 for finesse worms .006 for Senko 1 Quote
PawleysDude Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 Thanks, yeah I think I’d like them if I can get this part figured out. I’m using only a hook, wacky style. Sorry, but I can’t picture where you are squeezing - on the sides of the small hook portion of the ring? 1 Quote
Super User Solution Bird Posted June 5, 2024 Super User Solution Posted June 5, 2024 I'm just pinching the top of the ring while pushing down on hook to clear the barb. Really don't do this often though as I have a dedicated rod just for this technique. Will admit, those rings are made of some tough plastic. 1 Quote
PawleysDude Posted June 5, 2024 Author Posted June 5, 2024 Thanks, I appreciate your help. I’ll give that a try. Maybe with a little practice… Quote
