Bass Rod Uses for different power/length

My father unfortunately passed away in December of this year and left me all of his fishing equipment which is a lot. We fished a lot together and I would like to with my son but was hoping everyone could help me with the ideal setup for each of my 10 rods now. 6 casting 4 spinning. I enjoy small mouth and large mouth fishing with a combination of mostly bank fishing and some kayak fishing. Let's get into it!

Light 5'6 mitchell spinning:

Medium light 7'0 dobyn fury spinning:

Never heard of a 5-6 heavy falcon bionic blade. The most I've heard of is mh and a bionic blade is a bass pro shop rod.

My condolences on your father's death.  Pretty sure it was December last year, not this year.  My parents died a long time ago.  Still miss them occasionally.

 

My wife passed away in March.  Unfortunately she didn't leave me any fishing gear to inherit.  Sorry about the sick humor.  It's either that or cry.

Medium heavy 5'6 falcon

Heavy 6'0 bionic blade

I'm very sorry for your loss as well. Fishing seems to help remember some good times for sure

My grandfather taught me to fish.  He’s gone but I feel like he’s with me every time I go fishing.  Using your dad’s tackle is a great way to remember him.
 

As for uses for your rods,  the perfect setup can only be determined by the person holding the rod.   Everyone has a different style of fishing and a different way of casting.  I would encourage you to experiment and see what works for you.   All of the buzz around technique specific rods just make a simple process seem complicated.

That makes more sense. The 2 heavy rods would be worm rods. The shorter one is more accurate casts. The 5-6 I assume has a pistol grip ? Good for close quarter spinnerbaits

You came looking for help, so I'll try. Here's how I'd use these rods. 

 

Light 5'6 mitchell spinning: bobber fishing for panfish 

Medium light 7'0 dobyn fury spinning: Dropshot

Medium 6'0 berkely spinning: Ned rig, neko rig, shaky heads, etc. 

Medium heavy 6'0 bionic blade spin: Skipping around docks and brush with texas rigged soft plastics and small jigs. 

 

Medium 6'6 fish eagle RT3 casting: small single hook baits like smaller chatterbaits, paddletails, and such. You could also use it for crankbaits in a pinch, but it's not ideal. 

Medium black beauty 5'6 casting: not sure how I'd use this one 

Medium heavy 6'8 avid x casting: this would be for larger moving baits like spinnerbaits, topwaters, etc. 

Medium heavy 5'6 falcon casting: not sure how I'd use this one 

Heavy 5'6 falcon bionic blade: not sure how I'd use this one 

Heavy 6'6 falcon casting - this is your best bet for things like frogs, toads, jigs, etc. 

 

Ultimately, you'll probably want some longer rods for more power presentations like frogs and such, but you'll be ok for most stuff with what you have... for now.

Yes it sure does have a pistol grip on it, I could definitely throw some big spinners on that one. I planned on using it for some big jigs as well in tight areas.

Have to set hook hard with jig on short rod.suggest 50 lb Vicious no Fade Braid
