This is the reason my boat is full of bungee cords !!  When others come aboard, first thing they notice is all the cords holding stuff down.  Cheap to make your own, great insurance !!

this sucks.

the only reasonable solution to ease your pain is to take each combo that was lost and upgrade each rod and reel :P

you know what they say, the best way to get over someone is to get under someone else :P

@islandbass yeah it’s a rough one. I would have much rather parted with my phone over fishing gear.

@Hulkster I like your thinking. I really enjoyed the combos I had. I am going to be changing some stuff up though. Not to terribly much but just enough.

ironically I almost lost an entire seat trailering my boat home this past weekend. Took the riser bar off so it sat as low as possible in the receiver on the deck (inches off the deck) in the back. Hit one of those dips crossing a bridge and watched the whole seat pop straight up, do a flip and land on its "head". Only thing that stopped it from being completely ejected was the motor.

I'd have doubled back though, even if the rods werent useable I'd bet the reels would be if they werent run over.
