Super User RoLo Posted January 7, 2007 Super User Posted January 7, 2007 Yep, I had a feeling Roland was beginning to slip ;D Quote
Super User dodgeguy Posted January 7, 2007 Super User Posted January 7, 2007 yo dudes,i have one and it's my best rod!!! ;D ;D ;D ;D Quote
shimanogloomis man Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 wow who ever would buy something like that has problems Quote
the ohh face Posted January 7, 2007 Posted January 7, 2007 thats sweet if only it was a little cheaper id buy one for sunfish with the nephew Quote
Super User cart7t Posted January 7, 2007 Super User Posted January 7, 2007 Jim, weren't you just asking about new technologies in rod n reels? ;D I only wish it was made by Shimano, then it'd be the greatist thing since sliced bread. Seriously, can you imagine shooting one of Rolands helicopter lures out of that thing? What a H00t!! 8-) Quote
Super User FishTank Posted January 7, 2007 Super User Posted January 7, 2007 You got to be kidding me. I can see all the kids shooting this thing at each other by the end of the day and the fun thing is, there is a hook on the end of it. Cool. Quote
NATHAN_JAMES Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Yeah why learn to cast when you can blast? Why learn to fish at all. You mind as well chum the the water and through some TNT in...now that would be a blast! Was this designed to get kids interested in fishing or shooting? I don't know, what a gimik....wish i thought of it for 40$ a wack. Quote
Super User ww2farmer Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 I am all for getting kids or adult non-anglers envolved in fishing, but this is just another sad commentary on how lazy and into "do it all for you" gadgetry we are becoming. Other than beeing a joke amongst "real" fisherman, the sad thing is this gimmick is just another peice of junk designed to take $$ from ingnorant people who probably will give up on fishing when the peice of junk breaks after 10 "shots" across the lake. Shame on Roland Martin.....the guy was a great bass fisherman, but aside from that I always thought he was a money hungry pirate who does more harm than good to his image (at least amongst serious bass fisherman) with stunts like this...............so SOOOOOO transparent. Quote
noxpertjim Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I agree with everyone who thinks this is just plain ol' marketing junk. But thank you, striperone, for posting this, because I saw this at 3 AM last week and couldn't remember what it was called. Now all of us at work can laugh uncontrollably at this travesty of "fishing gear"! Quote
justfishin Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Yes cart7 but, this was beyond my wildest visions. OK , Mr. Martin, its time for your meds now, and remember, there will be finger painting and basket weaving in the Florida room today. ;D Quote
=Matt 5.0= Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Wow, learn how to shoot trap, skeet, and fish! : Quote
Super User Redlinerobert Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 Wow. Those peacocks won't stand a chance against....THE ROCKET LAUNCHER ;D Quote
Super User senile1 Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 I'm so disappointed in Roland Martin. I liked him back in the day, but between the constant plugs for products on his show, endorsing junk such as this, and yelling "I gotta' a big bass, I gotta' big bass . . . . " over and over every time he hooks a bass I'm getting where I can't stand to watch him. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 I think Martin has hit rock bottom with this promotion. That's really a shame. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 I wonder what Shimano thinks of their poster boy now? Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 Shimano??? He's an Abu man. Don't you watch his show??? He only says it every other second. ;D Quote
Super User burleytog Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 60% of Martin's show is spent touting sunscreen, Ray Scott's pond videos, Leverage spinnerbaits (which I wish I could find), ABU Garcia, Aqua-Vu, Lowrance and Yamamoto. But I still DVR every episode. For every 5 bad shows, there is one good one. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 Don't you watch his show??? No....I dont watch his show and havent for a long time. Last I can remember he was Shimano this,Shimano that, buy Shimano,Shimano's the best, cant beat a Shimano and on and on. *** MODERATOR NOTE *** Just goes to show you, "back in the day," he must have had all his ducks in order! - RW 8-) *** MODERATOR NOTE *** Maybe he did but now he's found even better reels to pimp. -fivebasslimit Quote
Super User KU_Bassmaster. Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 Well it more of the same but it's Abu Garcia this, Falcon rods and organizers that. Triton boats this, Mercury outboards that. Some sunscreen this, frog Toggs that. Yamamoto this, Mega Strike that. Boga Grips this, Ray Scott's pond building that. Ono sunglasses this, Aqua View that. Spro lures this, Pro soft bait glue that. Lowrance this, Color selector that. I can't wait for one of the newer episodes when he breaks out the "Rocket Rod" and tries to plug that. ;D ;D ;D Quote
Pa Angler Posted January 9, 2007 Posted January 9, 2007 I wonder if it comes with his patent pending Helicopter lure kit? If it does it's a steal. Chow Quote
Super User RoLo Posted January 10, 2007 Super User Posted January 10, 2007 Yeah why learn to cast when you can blast? Why learn to fish at all. You mind as well chum the the water and through some TNT in...now that would be a blast! Was this designed to get kids interested in fishing or shooting? I don't know, what a gimik....wish i thought of it for 40$ a wack. All that, and it's endorsed by none other than Roland Martin ;D : First Mr. Martin retired, then he & his wife sold their marina/tackle shop to their boy Scott, then the Big-O fell through the cracks!!!! I have a hunch that the Martin Flagship is taking on water. Roger Quote
Guest avid Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 Let's not be put the guy down too hard. I mean how many of us would turn down the hundreds of thousands dollars he makes on promotions. Are we all so "ethical" that we would turn down serious money to endorse everything. Hell, Bill dance has been doing it for years. These guys paid their dues, and if making all the money they can grab is #1 on the agenda, I say more power to em. Ps. I thought the "bobber blaster" looked like fun. Won't buy the piece of crap, but sill it looked like fun. I just wonder if he will be named in the lawsuit the first kid shoots another and hooks his ear off? Quote
Lane Posted January 10, 2007 Posted January 10, 2007 OMG! This is HORRIBLE! Roland endorses our products, and has for quite some time. I am totally floored by this endorsement, he must really need money! I doubt that my dear friend Chief Braswell of Yamamoto baits knows about this. I know for a fact that the owners of Spike It and Frogg Togs do not know. Unfortunately, endorsements now days are about $$$, and not about belief in the product! Almost all of the big boys are pimps! This might be our last year with Roland, I can't stomach this one! Rolo, Rolands ex-wife owns the marina along with FULL rights to use his name! Quote
