A mistake I made concering my incorrectly describing the rod I own was gratefully brought to my attention so now scratch the original title and now its simply this:

What would be my best MHF spinning rod choice for a 100% dedicated only fluke fishing rod under $150. I deleted my original post as it no longer applies and no longer needs be read. Will be using a size 2000 reel and 20 or 30lb Suffix 832 braid a swivel to non braided line.

I already own and use a 7'3" MHF Falcon Lowrider as my now dedicated fluke rod

Is your Low Rider spinning rod the current model ?

Seems the 7'3" Low Riders being sold now are Moderate action and designated as a crankbait rod.

If that's what you have, it would explain your lack of single hook setting horse power.

Because the rod is designed for treble hook baits, Flukes might not be the best application.

Thank you sir for your astute observation. I now thanks to you realize I made a mistake when I originally bought the Falcon lowrider as I thought it was a MH FAST action when indeed it is a MH MEDIUM action. So scratch the Falcon Lowrider spinning rod off my list.

So now that my mistake has THANKFULLY been brought to my attention, what would be my best choice in a MHF spinning rod for a dedicated fluke only rod?

Right now I'm using an old Compre spinning rod for my flukes because I really like the handle but if I were to change I would look at the Shimano  Intenza model,  MH Fast, at 7 foot three.

Have you tried the rod you have? I have the lowrider 6'10" m shakey head rod and have no problem fishing flukes with braid.

As anyone who has read any of my rod suggestions knows, I do love my falcon rods.  However, their spinning rods are not to my preference.  if you're looking for a true fast action or even an XF, you're not really going to find it.  The cara MH spin would get you there but that's a big rod rated for 3/4 oz and 7'3".

@CDMTJager- i went shimano in my searching.  My dad has a zodias and I like the feel of it.  I went with the 6'10" ML/F and its exactly what I was looking for (which is a little lighter than what you're looking for).  He's got the 7' medium and that would be a good choice for you.  The Zodias range are higher than your budget, but the SLX are similar power/actions.  The 7' medium SLX would be a dandy rod if you can swap your lowrider.

I also forgot to mention.  I think you sould consider a bigger reel than a 2k size.  If you already have one and that's what you're using then fine.  But on a 7' medium powered spinning rod that setup is going to be pretty tip heavy.  I'd be looking at a 3k or even 4k size given the choice (and also depending on the specific reel).

Have several 4000 NIB and my spool of HIVIZ yel 832 is empty on a 4000 reel as I type this.

I also prefer a spinning rod for flukes and like the $180-$200 price point but if you wait you can find one that retails in this range for $150 or under. In my case I also use this setup for 3.8 keitechs and throwing a bubba shot but most of the time it's my fluke rod. Having said that this one is a tough one to answer for me. If I had my way they would have a 7'1" medium heavy fast spinning rod in the Kaden line. They have a 7 foot in the Sierra line but I've thrown both and while I like the Sierra line for some applications I would really prefer a medium heavy fast kaden spinning rod if they made one. For now I have a 7'3" Lew's custom lite that I managed to find on sale for $114. I like it a lot but the warranty difference between Lew's rods and something from Dobyn's or St. Croix is considerable so I try to stick to one of those two when I can. If you are ok with the handle location on the Victory and you can wait they will probably go on sale again at some point and I'd suggest the VTS71MF or the VTS73MXF. Alternatively if the Sierra goes on sale for now I'd say get that. Or if you don't care about the warranty the grip on this Lew's CLWJS is the best grip I've used and the rod itself is awesome for flukes...again my only complaint about this rod is the 2 year warranty vs 15 or lifetime for a Dobyn's or St. Croix. One last note...if you have a bass pro near you I was looking into the Johnny Morris Signature series and they have one on sale right now for $159. Wait for the next club member Monday (guessing that might be this Monday) and get another 10% off w/ their code and that gets you below $150 and that looks like a 10 year warranty that seems pretty legit. That one is a 7'2" medium heavy fast and would probably work great but I haven't used one in that series...good luck.

For use in non slip, Med XF st Croix in casting.  Jerk bait rod basically.  If fishing slop I up to a longer rod in MHF

Bass pro carbonlite spinning rods. 2 lengths in a mh/f action and both are on sale for under 100.00.

I should add that I abhor fishing a jerk/fluke or the like with spinning.  It is so much more natural with a casting rod.

Well impatience got the better of me mostly because the weed growth accessible from shore or wading in the lakes I fish is about perfect for both attracting and holding bass and being able to fish all I can reach with a cast. In a months time the direct opposite will be true. Right now for my lakes the bass action is as good as it will get.

So I bought a 7'3" MHF Shimano Intenza put a size 4000 reel on it spooled with 20lb Suffex 832 and using 10-12lb Yo-Zuri copolymer.

Went out last night and to use the new rod reel and line setup using T-rigged 5-5.25" Flukes. Will post my results in a nre post.

Thank you for you well thought out and written response. I will do as you advise and keep an eye out for when the Johnny Morris rods goes on sale as I have a Cabela's 15 minuet's from my home and a BPS 25 minutes from my home as I will need at least one more dedicated fluke fishing spinning setup for my sons to use. Oddly enough for no particular reason I have never consider buying my higher end (FOR ME)  $90-$160 or above rods from Cabela's or BPS. Thanks for bringing doing so to my attention.

I currently use Ugly Stick Elites (which I buy during club member promotions for $60) for all my casting of all chatterbaits and frogging and have been frankly shocked how well a $60 baitcasting rod works. My other favorite is a 7'3" MHF 13 Blackout casting rod I found on sale for $45EA at a sale on Ebay if I bought a bundle of four.

As much as I wish I could buy higher end rods and reels, having to outfit three VS one fisherman makes that financially unwise.

I won't throw a hard Jerkbait on spinning gear but will throw a fluke around docks and overhanging trees with spinning..... they skip so well.

I'd take a look at the new Fenwicks. The HMG would be in your price range.

I have one in each model. World class, Elite, HMG ect.. The more I fish them the more I like them.

My World class is every bit as good as NRX+ and Z bone with the Xray and that's not easy for me to say.

Good point although normally I'd use a Senko for that, but if I were choosing a fluke I'd skip it on spinning.  6'6" MHF so I can yank them away from the cover.
