Super User BrianMDTX Posted May 30, 2024 Super User Posted May 30, 2024 I placed an order from TW (you’re welcome, Bait Monkey). And amongst the weights and worms and line I ordered, I bought a pack of Slink-o’s. Anyone use them this year? Any successes or disappointments? Rigging suggestions? I'm thinking either a shaken head or a Carolina rig. 1 Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted May 31, 2024 Author Super User Posted May 31, 2024 lol. Looks like the answer is no 😂 Well, when they get here, I’ll see how they do. Quote
NavyToad Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 You talked me into it. Just ordered a couple bags and will try wacky rig first. Interested to see if a difference in fall rate helps/hurts. Someone will likely chime in. Quote
jdr99a Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 I’ve recently tied a slinko in the okeechobee craw color and wacky rigged it. I’ve had success with it. It seems to be a good worm…but in all honesty it would be hard for Yamamoto to screw up something that simple. Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted May 31, 2024 Author Super User Posted May 31, 2024 How does it work as a WR if it floats? Quote

It's meant to be used with a Zappu Zero Inchi hook or similar weighted wacky hook (called Shot Wacky technique) But the Zero Inchi allows for a particularly interesting presentation due to where the weight is. Super User TOXIC Posted May 31, 2024 Super User Posted May 31, 2024 If you order directly from Yamamoto they have a special free shipping promo going on right now. Quote
KP Duty Posted May 31, 2024 Posted May 31, 2024 Been using the Grandebass snake-O for a few years. It's similar. Great for shakey/neko. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/GrandeBass_SnakeO_Stick_Baits_10pk/descpage-GRNDRSO.html Quote
Big Swimbait Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I use it as a big Ned bait since it floats. I use this jig head. https://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Nichols_JT_Magnum_Weedless_Ned_Rig_Jig_Head_3pk/descpage-NJTMW.html 1 Quote
OHBuckets Posted June 2, 2024 Posted June 2, 2024 I've had some success with SlinkOs on a wacky jig head. Quote
Super User WRB Posted June 2, 2024 Super User Posted June 2, 2024 I thought the Slinko was a winner but haven’t caught anything on them🤬 Tried C-rig, Finesee C-rig (Slip Shot), drop shot and Neko rig. The Senko worked where the Slinko didn’t. Tom Quote
Super User BrianMDTX Posted June 2, 2024 Author Super User Posted June 2, 2024 @WRB if you had to give a reason, why do you think it wasn’t a successful bait for you? The bait itself? Water clarity? Structure were used? I am interested in your assessment. Quote
Super User WRB Posted June 2, 2024 Super User Posted June 2, 2024 I can’t give you a reason it just doesn’t work. I fished with a guide at lake Cachuma last year and said the same thing couldn’t get bit on the Sinko. I don’t know why? Tom Quote
