New tracker, rod lockers on both sides are full of water all the time.

There seems to be a few design flaws, one, the water getting in there in the first place and 2 there's no drain to let it out.

Spoke with a few fishing buddy boat owners (not trackers) and they said this is not normal for this to be happening.

Any thoughts?

Does the lid have a good seal?  My rod locker in my Ranger has a tight rubber seal around the top.  I never get any moisture or rain in there, and I fish frequently in the rain.  Also, if you fished in the rain, after you get back home, it helps to just open the lids for a while.  It allows any excess moisture to air out better.

Is water getting in when it’s not raining? If so get it back to the dealer.

If they are actually filling with water, the the factory folks may have screwed up the plumbing for the live wells.  Being new, get it back to the dealer pronto !!

They took it back, said they think it was due to water splashing over the sides when docked (doubtful.) Anyway, they said they added some weather sealant and also drilled some holes to let the lockers drain into the bilge area.

 

Seems like a major design flaw on the 2024 models, I'm sure I won't be the only one contacting them to fix this.

my tacker (13 model so YMMV) had no seal around the handle cutouts for the hatches. I got some clear silicone and sealed them up from the underside and sealed the drain in the channel around inside lip and havent had any water in my hatches since. 

 

Mine wouldnt "fill up" though, just any water splashing over or rain would get the inside good and soaked.

Update

 

Their "fix" was to drill holes in the rod lockers to let the water out...Works until the holes get plugged about once a week...

New issues:

Speedometer doesn't work, won't read anything above 20MPH

Fuel gauge doesn't work, reads 1/2 tank when tank is full

Bilge area filling up with water every few hrs

Time to return it for a refund if new.  If you financed it, stop all payments.  Defiantly not right.  Pressure type Speedos never work right, probably some scrap in the tube.  Fuel gages are not accurate often.....as king as they repeat is all you can expect.  Best thing is to put a few gallons in and check reading, then add more and keep checking the gage.  My own 18 gallon built in tank, stays full until almost half is gone, then the gage drops quickly.  When it reads 1/2 tank, I know it will take 13 gallons to fill it up.  Bilge filling with water is totally unacceptable !!  Tracker should just replace the entire boat.

Man that’s really unfortunate on those issues with a brand new boat. I’d be fairly upset and friustrated.

Yes....have done that many times in my life.  Talk to the dealer, if no sucess, go to your banker, when the bank knows your not gonna pay for a faulty boat, they will call the dealer.  If no resolve after that, put all your payments in a separate account so the bank can't get them , people do this all the time.  I have done it on a few occasions and it really got results.  You do need to verify all your issues and the contacts made to get them resolved.  If your not comfortable doing this on your own, that is what attorneys are for.

Are you doing business in a small town where everyone knows eachother?  Was this 20-30 years ago?

 

Simply stated, bank pays dealer, buyer pays bank.  Buyer stops making payments and their credit takes a hit and the item gets repo’d.  Now if the financier is part of the group, owned by Johnny that is, I could see some pressure being applied but only after all parties are coordinated.  Never stop making payments on a loan unless you want your credit negatively affected.

FWIW, I had that exact boat, 2016.  The lockers regularly filled with water on rough condition days.  Also, if you stop too fast, it will take on water over the stern and is possibly the source of your water.  Staying on top of the bilge every couple of stops will be your friend.

 

You will want to remove your seat post mounting plates in the lower floor area.  You are not going to be happy with what you see but it’s an area that has to be dried and addressed because the foam will not let the water drain and because of the way the foam is poured, there is just no way to make a drain.  For me, it just became part of the maintenance after rough water trips.  Remove the plates, suction out the water, let a fan circulate in the garage or sit in the sun to dry the whole boat.

 

I do not miss that boat……

That was my first thought too. Seems like a great way to completely tank your credit score.

 

I’d keep making my payments until the problem was solved.

You need to talk to the banker first and explain you have a problem, not just stop payments with taking the proper steps first....didn't think that needed to be explained, but guess it did !
