bassin_man Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 Now that I have a strictly pitch/flip combo I am going to put some PowerPro on it and back it with regular line. How much backing should on put on the spool? Just enough to cover the spool at the bottom, etc. etc.? Also what knot does everyone use to connect the two lines? Thanks Quote
bugman Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I have some 40 lbs Power Pro on a bait caster and used the 12 lbs mono that was on the spool for backing. all you need is enough mono to cover the spool 5 or 6 times. I used the uni to uni knot that was on the sheet of paper that came with the Power Pro and it has worked fine for me. Quote
Super User Grey Wolf Posted January 8, 2007 Super User Posted January 8, 2007 Since you're using it for pitchin and flippin , you could use 1/2 mono and 1/2 braid to save some money. Quote
bassnleo Posted January 8, 2007 Posted January 8, 2007 I fill my spool 1/2 way with 14lb mono then the rest with braid or floro, whatever I'm using for flipping/pitcing. Quote
