First time experiencing them and they have a significant impact.

We live deep in the mountains in western Virginia and our property joins National forest.

It looks like January here, trees stripped clean and millions of them crawling on the house.

 

And get this !

Actually had to put the truck in 4wd to come up the driveway, was spinning in catapilar juice.

I've pressure washed the house several times already.

I've heard stories about them but never knew they could wipe out an entire mountain.

Anyone ever experience these critters ?

They are a royal pain. We’ve had them for the last 3 years. They mainly tear up our oak, cherry and maple trees. Non stop cleaning up their droppings and their dead bodies from the pesticide we spray. Good luck.

We had them when I was a kid. Everyone in the neighborhood put a black stripe of pitch about 4 feet up every tree to stop them from climbing
