BassResource.com Administrator Glenn Posted May 25, 2024 BassResource.com Administrator Posted May 25, 2024 Spinning setups have become a staple for bass anglers, serving in situations well beyond clear water or finesse techniques. These four spinning reels won’t shirk those new responsibilities or break the bank. https://www.bassresource.com/fishing/spinning-reels-buyers-guide.html Quote
Super User islandbass Posted May 25, 2024 Super User Posted May 25, 2024 Oh no. I didn’t even click on the link yet, and I hear the bait monkey rattling his cage. Down, boy! 😂 clicking now. 😎 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted May 25, 2024 Super User Posted May 25, 2024 Just now, islandbass said: Oh no. I didn’t even click on the link yet, and I hear the bait monkey rattling his cage. Down, boy! 😂 clicking now. 😎 Great starter reels - I have the previous gen President XT (still has the AR switch)....none that I'd purchase now. My current line-up of spinners for bass is a Supreme and 4 Miravels. Quote
Super User islandbass Posted May 25, 2024 Super User Posted May 25, 2024 @MN Fisher: my main spinning reels right now are a 2000 rapala sxi (for ds), a small Abu cardinal for my UL, and a 2500 old school shimano symetre as an all arounder. I’ve been using these reels for what has to be well over 10 years and they are in great shaped and have caught many fish. This is why my bait monkey is rattling his cage. It’s been too long since you bought a reel he says. The last bc reel I bought was a curado 101d 😱 I totally prefer the AR switch too so these “new” AR less reels don’t appeal to me (whining like a punk kid). All those reels look nice too. Quote
throttleplate Posted May 26, 2024 Posted May 26, 2024 Yep, no ar switch which i use quite often during fishing, i have to find a good brand with ar switch other than my favorite pfluegers if ever in need of a new reel. Quote
