Woody B Posted May 19, 2024 Posted May 19, 2024 I've been thinking about buying a Secchi Disk for a while. Yesterday the water where I was fishing was really muddy. I fished several miles further down the lake today and it wasn't muddy. I don't have any way to "measure" it. I think it would be good if many of use could rate water clarity the same way. Yesterday I thought about a BR group buy. How many people are interested in buying one? Are any Bass Resource sponsors interested in participating in a group buy? I think it would be great way for a sponsor to make a couple bucks, as well as many of us coming up with a way to compare water clarity. The Sponsors and @Glenn keep this forum running. If enough of us participate it could benefit the forum too. I need 1, but I'll take 2. I have a co worker I'd give one to. If you'd be interested in buying one or more answer in this thread. If any sponsor or sponsors sell them, or would like to sell some let us know. FWIW, I contacted Glenn before starting this thread. 1 Quote
Super User Tennessee Boy Posted May 19, 2024 Super User Posted May 19, 2024 I already have one so I don’t need another. I agree it’s good to have a standard way to measure water clarity. 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 19, 2024 Super User Posted May 19, 2024 If the pros used it the bass anglers would follow. Most pros simply stick a spinner bait at the of the rod down in the water and if can see the blades, it’s good enough. BR Seechi disk would cool to have. Tom 2 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted May 20, 2024 Super User Posted May 20, 2024 Already a long time owner, but would gladly jump in and use it to report visibility depths in reports as part of a group effort if it caught on. 2 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted May 20, 2024 Super User Posted May 20, 2024 My old one got lost somewhere - keep meaning to make a new one. One with a BR logo would be great. Count me in on this. Quote
Deephaven Posted May 20, 2024 Posted May 20, 2024 Depending on the cost I am interested as well. Quote
