crappieflopper90 Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Going to be doing my first ever smallmouth fishing. Bull shoals lake is huge. Ans from what I hear it's pretty clear. Best lures and colors? Quote
rangerjockey Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 I'm not a expert on Bull Shoals . I'm up the road a bit on Table rock. But right now I would be looking on the gravel flats with a tube or finesse style jig. Can't go wrong with green pumpkin with some blue or PBJ in the Ozarks. Once they move off the flats it's usually time for the drop-shot and spoon. Personally, I don't really target them, they are finicky and you will catch a bunch of spots looking for them. If you have your heart set on catching some I would recommend hiring a guide. Del Colvin is one on the best. Quote
Tackleholic Posted May 17, 2024 Posted May 17, 2024 Water has reached low 70's, smallmouth bite has noticeably slowed. Soft plastic craw imitations in green pumpkin with 1/4 jighead, baby poop tubes, ned rigs, try strolling if you like playing video games. If Del Colvin is busy, call Tim Curtis at Hot Dawg Guide Service. Quote
