Daiwa PX Type-R Spool

Looking for spool recommendations for my Daiwa PX Type-R reel.    Any suggestions?

Airy red?   I never look at upgrading spools. But stupid me had the spool roll off the table and it has a little dent I can’t get back into shape so now it just feels rough so looks like I need to upgrade to a spool.  Doh!

Believe spool size is 31mm.  Any Pixy spool will fit.  From what I've read, the Airy Red spool performs slightly better than the other stock spools.  There are aftermarket spools for Pixy reels.  Want a lighter SV spool holder less line?

Just tracked one down.   I’ll have to get it.    I managed to get my current spool as round as possible.   It work fine now and just has a slight tick but it’s working at the moment.

Well here’s an update.    I’m not sure what I did to fix it but I fixed the spool.   It spins as it should.  Casts as it should.   And has no tick.   Just really really small bends to shape it and it’s back to normal.   What a relief.    Now I have a finesse special on order as back up lol

If you ever have this happen again, round nose pliers are a godsend.  Also, look for an Alphas Air Stream Custom spool, it too is a drop-in.

Was using my pixy with px68 finnese special spool for american shad all day today. cought 59 shad, and was literally outcasting anyone from the bank by meters, and there was at least 30 people. This spool with 8-10lb braid and small aerodynamic lures is insane. I don't know why its not very popular, even back in the day when they were still in production.
