Super User gim Posted May 10, 2024 Super User Posted May 10, 2024 This lure post is for you, @NorthernBasser. Doing my best to point out the fine details of a new lure with photos. I bought one of these last week (pumpkinseed). I tied it on in preparation for use tomorrow. This is a relatively new version that has some interesting features, that I just now noticed. The front lip (which some have commented here about being too brittle and breaking) folds up and down on a hinge. The concept is that it folds up when casting for less resistance, allowing longer casts. It folds down into the swimming position when being used just like a regular vision 110. Megabass refers to it as Moving Lip Technology that they have a patent on it. Additionally, there are dual tungsten weights inside the lure for casting position and swimming position. Megabass calls this their Moving Balancer System, which also has a patent. I took some photos of the lip in the cast and swim position, in addition to the back of the package. The thought is that these features give the jerk bait a more "erratic" retrieve. Guess I'll find out tomorrow. 3 Quote
Super User NorthernBasser Posted May 10, 2024 Super User Posted May 10, 2024 Can't wait to hear your thoughts on it. That puppy must've ran another $50 with all that tech. 😅 Hopefully this guy doesn't also have expensive taste! 2 Quote

I gave it about an hour this morning and caught 2 largemouth on it. They were both about 15-16 inchers. No pike on it, thankfully. I can definitely see that it has more darting action than a standard vision 110 because of these features. I think the folding lip actually does let you cast it farther too. I was able to really sail that thing out there. So far, so good. I'll give another try later next week on bigger water for smallmouth/walleye. 2 Quote
Super User Team9nine Posted May 11, 2024 Super User Posted May 11, 2024 Definitely a different action than a standard 110. I had one that caught me some really nice fish before something happened to it (lost, broke - can’t remember). The only other one I have hasn’t produced the same, yet. 1 Quote
thunderblack Posted May 13, 2024 Posted May 13, 2024 Fished a FX for a season. Not sure how it compared to the standard 110 really but it caught a lot of fish and the bill held up fine. Great looking color choice and bait. Good luck! 1 Quote
