The best just got better.  Easy penetration and keeps them pinned.  Best of all, Nano Alpha hooks are the same price as regular Gamakatsu hooks.  It's a no-brainer - I'm loading up!

I have 3/0, 4/0, 5/0 offset round bend of these hooks arriving tomorrow. I was running out of every single size of round bend hook that I use in the regular diameter Gamakatsu. Time for a restock. Looking forward to seeing how they are for me.

They're still doing work for me. Even when conditions are tough for me to get a good hookset (and I certainly didn't), they still manage to hook and hold when I needed them to most on my biggest fish of the day.

Wondering was there any increased risk of you capsizing due to coming into contact with the timber? especially if you kayak had run over or on top of  a submerged tree limb or truck of significant size?

Pardon me if I am missing something, but the hook being discussed is a Gamakatsu Nano Alpha and the hooked pictured is a Gamakatsu Super Line. Are they one in the same?

It's hard to see, but the bright chartreuse under the hooks, above where it says "Superline", it says "Nano Alpha". They're the exact same hook, but with the coating that makes them very slick for easier penetration, and way more corrosion resistant.

Kayaking around the timber is always a challenge. Not only is there an increased risk in flipping from running into trees and stumps, but getting stuck on top of a log or stump is a risk and the worst is having a stick pop through a scupper hole. I know guys that have had that happen that couldn't get off of them and had to jump in to be able to get their kayaks unstuck.

Thank you for the reply. I just bought a new never used Sundolphin 12SS fishing Kayak. It was not my first choice but at the price it it was offered at including a pretty good paddle and it was still in the factory plastic I couldn't pass it up at 1/2 the cost of any other sit on top kayak for a bigger guy lime me at 260lbs. I will steer clear of what little timber I have in my lakes.

The lakes I plan on using it in are relatively small at under 600 acres. I would not feel comfortable taking a kayak out on a really big lake due to many previous experiences out on bigger lakes in windy wavey conditions in 16-20' fishing boats equipped with OBM of significant power. Also been fishing to many times when the weather had predicted very favorable small craft weather conditions only to watch as the weather went to absolute crap in less than 20 minuets making for a long, wet and bumpy ride back to shore.
