Basshunter_ Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 It's time to service my curado 200k but can't seem to find what grease and oil shinano recommends. I've tried looking everywhere online but no luck. Does anyone happen to know what grease and oil shimano recommends since they have a couple of options? Quote
MediumMouthBass Posted May 6, 2024 Posted May 6, 2024 Unless Shimano states that reel requires a special oil or grease any of the usual/typical reel oils and grease should work. I stick with Lews rebranded Lucas Oil stuff for my reels, its cheap and available almost anywhere. Quote

What has me confused is that the curado k has a carbon drag and I've heard some of the grease out there can ruin it if it's not made for carbon drags. Quote

Super User FishTank Posted May 6, 2024 Super User Posted May 6, 2024 Shimano Bantam oil and Shimano Drag Grease are what they use to use. Oil for the bearings and worm gear, grease for drag and gears. A small amount goes a long way. Personally, I use TSI 321 and either Cal's or Shimano Drag Grease. 1 Quote
Delaware Valley Tackle Posted May 7, 2024 Posted May 7, 2024 There’s no need grease a carbon drag in a bass reel especially a baitcaster. Cals tan is the best choice for felt, dartanium etc wet drags. As for the rest, marine grease for gears, gear oil in frame bearings, level wind and sliding parts. Light oil in spool bearings: bantam, Remoil, light hydraulic oil all work. Quote
