I bought a 10x20 lofted barn to store my kayaks and my fishing and camping gear in today. The store I bought it from also is a Nucanoe dealer, so I got to check out Nucanoe kayaks, and they also told me which kayak racks they've used in the store and they're under $200 so I'll grab one of those for sure.

Now I'm thinking about rod storage. I could either get a bunch of horizonal rod racks on the wall opposite of where I keep the kayaks, but I was thinking vertical might be easier as I have the height. That way, it would be as out of the way as possible.

Alternatively, I could get a couple of spinning rod racks. Those are nice.

I currently have one of those floor standing double rod racks as well that I could probably use for something.

Does anyone have any good rod racks? I see the KastKing V15 rod rack, I guess that is just one piece that is supposed to hold the rod off the ground but I'm not sure how well that works, and probably doesn't work with a rod sleeve.

Yeah, I want to get a table where I can rig up rods conveniently, even if it's pouring out.  I finally got a Yakima Topwater so I can carry 8 rigged rods plus another 5,  maybe 6 in the front seat.

It's a much faster launch when I'm grabbing pre-rigged rods :)

Go to tackle stores and see what they're using and maybe get some ideas.

I've always used the basic vertical wall mounts like Berkeley, Rapala, BPS (they're all the same).  They are inexpensive and work well. Each rack can hold five rods. Thought about building my own rod racks out of wood and staining them, but the above noted racks are a lot less expensive.

The Kastking v15 rod rack is good but you have to have space to be able stagger to get all the reels to have space I got no complaints with them.

These ^^

I used the ones from Field & Stream. Used a pair of 1x2’s as a base, mounted to studs in the wall, then painted to match. Then used the included hardware to attach the base and holder frames to the 1x2’s, giving you the flexibility to space as needed, or alter easily in the future.

I usually don't keep reels on my rods, but it's a useful feature to have.

I went with these:

shopping?q=tbn:ANd9GcT6lfoQH84Dbhi8xVhagXMIdWz2A3pMxfCholgh1OvlMuo_c9_cB9eHMRzD5MElkDnTylLGlJ30oThPCGKE5qMtY5ATQctaNyfQ-p9iS_EcrTRTP_Gc8Rk2fPLo

When I built my kayak cart I put a set so that the rods can sit horizontally, parallel to the kayak.  I alternated directions so that the reels don't overlap.  Its snug, but with low profile baticasters all six fit.  You can run them horizontal, vertical, or I even considered hanging them from rafters since my basement is concrete walls

also, $20 a set.

I just put up 4 of these and they work great for everything from surf rods to finesse panfish rods.  I store rods with reels attached.

In my old house the space to store rods was a weird dimension so I ended up buying rod holder clips off of Amazon and made a custom rack to hold the rods and maximize storage.  When I moved I took the rack/clips and again made my own rod rack.  I like the flexibility as it hold the very light rods to my saltwater stuff with no issues.

Same here for the Berkeley, Rapala, BPS holders. Been using my set for 3 years and wont go back to the floor type like you currently have.
