I have a co-worker that has a LN 8-9/10 Curado 70 HG that he wants $ 125.00 for.  Is this a fair price?

Depends. I’d say $100 just because the 70 MGL is probably $150 in same condition. But I don’t think $125 is necessarily unfair

It's the worse 70 MGL.  It has gears that are notorious for getting rough and the spool is on the wilder side than most like especially compared to the 70 MGL and 150 MGL.  I can get new 70 and 150 MGLs for $150 or a Tatula 80 for $115.  Under $100 like new with box and only if you have your heart set on one.

@Bigbox99, I'm surprised to hear this.  All the reviews I read on line were positive??

My personal stance on any second hand tackle is that I won’t pay more than 70% of retail for a pristine piece and work backwards from there. The “geary reel” complaints online are often overblown for lots of models. Misdiagnoses, poor or lacking maintenance, rough use etc are some variables. Any value question comes down to what it’s worth to YOU.

Thanks for all the replies.  I did purchase it and everything seems to be fine with it.

They’re good little reels, I’ve been fishing with mine about 4 years now with no problems
