Super User scaleface Posted May 1, 2024 Super User Posted May 1, 2024 Went fishing yesterday and used my Leatherman three times. Twice to resharpen hooks and once to tighten loose screws on my seat. 21 hours ago, Skunkmaster-k said: My Leatherman is a must have. It’s been instrumental in saving my bacon more than once. 1 Quote

Susky River Rat Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Not really a leave the house thing but when I get to the boat ramp I send my wife the GPS coordinates. That way if something would possibly happen there is a starting point 1 Quote

Ya'll must have frequent bowel emergencies if you've had experience using wind shield wipe towels from the gas station. I think I'd just prefer to "hold it" and wait for a more suitable situation. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted May 1, 2024 Super User Posted May 1, 2024 @gimruis I agree. I’d rather go the @T-Billy route and head into the woods. 1 Quote

Put it on a paper towel and dab it on my neck, ears, shirt, arms and then dump most of it on my boots and legs up to my knees. Its kept me insect free for the past few years, even when walking through various tick infested woods. After reading about what most insect repellents contain id rather use something more natural that is also edible, im not a big fan of putting chemicals on my body whether it be sunscreen or insect repellent.... Functional Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 My absolute minimum is what I'll grab to walk to the dock and fish. Hat or sunglasses pliers knife I just need to be able to retie and get a fish off, everything else is luxury. Quote
RB 77 Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Besides Rod/ Reel/ Tackle/ Tools... Water, Sunscreen, Sunglasses, TP and PFD. Quote
Peacedivision Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 small sling pack with a single 3600 flex box, whatever lures and terminal I need tossed in the flex, maybe a couple packs of soft plastics in the bag. Spool of line if I'm running braid+leader. License is always in the pack. Line cutters/Pliers/Stats/Sunscreen always in the pack. Sun hat, shirt, gloves. Quote
KP Duty Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Everything has been mentioned, except... (alright-alright-alright) Quote
rgasr63 Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 Everything above is good. But you just can't leave without having the Dude Wipes or something equivalent. TP does not fair too well all the time especially in bad weather and the dude wipes work in the field as well as in the gas station. They are packaged so you are ready all the time. The other item that I have to have is my old hand held gps. They make better ones today that might be better. Nevertheless the one that I have helps me travel around. Some people can use the cellular phone until it gets wet. I think having a little redundancy in that department is best Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted May 1, 2024 Super User Posted May 1, 2024 Telescopic lure retriever because some of those found lures can be just out of reach. 1 Quote
Woody B Posted May 1, 2024 Posted May 1, 2024 In addition to much of the stuff already mentioned. Glock 32. 1 Quote
