Super User DitchPanda Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 For those of you that fish mornings what does your pre fishing breakfast consist of? For me its either bacon, hash browns and eggs, breakfast tacos or a breakfast sandwich almost always bacon or ham, egg and cheese on a burger bun or bagel. To make my wife happy ill usually throw in a piece of fruit typically a banana or avocado. Normally just a big glass of water but sometimes a black coffee. Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 A Clif Bar, getting up a 5am is hard enough 😁 5 2 Quote
PourMyOwn Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 I'm a one meal a day guy with a very specific carnivore diet. I bring a piece of pemmican and I'm good. 1 Quote
Super User Jig Man Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 I don’t take food in the boat so I eat a big breakfast. Mine consists of a sandwich with a fried egg, fried summer sausage slices, a slice of cheddar cheese, and a slice of tomato on a lightly toasted wheat hamburger bun along with several tater tots and some black coffee. I’m good until mid to late afternoon. 2 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 Usually a bacon egg and cheese sandwich on the way to the lake, always some black coffee and water, and usually a granola bar or something mid morning. 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 I’d have to get up at 4am if I was going to prepare a hot breakfast before I went fishing. That just ain’t gonna happen. I usually grab a granola bar, a hard boiled egg, and a banana before I go. I drink black coffee every morning, 365 days/year in my yeti cup. 3 Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 Biscuit and gravy. Ya know Southern thing 2 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 Breakfast is a Jimmy Dean Bowl. I take a sandwich and a 15oz Bolthouse for lunch. I don't snack on chips or such - a ziploc with a cup of blueberries is my hand snack. 1 Quote
Super User Jar11591 Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 @bowhunter63 it’s this Yankee’s favorite breakfast! 2 Quote
Happybeerbuzz Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Getting up early enough to be on the water at dawn is a challenge for me so breakfast is usually microwaved left overs. Occasionally, when there aren’t any, I resort to a gas station breakfast sandwich. 100% of the time there is a Yeti full of coffee to wash it down. Quote
Super User Catt Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 Breakfast of champions! Honey bun & a carton of milk 5 Quote
VolFan Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 This morning it was a couple of pieces of wheat toast with butter, a hard boiled egg and an orange. If the fam is going with me I make bacon and breakfast sandwiches on bagels. 1 Quote
Super User A-Jay Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 I'm up and out pretty early most of the time. When I want to be 'on the spot' right at first light, and I have 60 miles of road and 10 miles of lake between me & the fish, my breakfast needs to be easy & fast to keep me on schedule. A protein shake & a half of banana is the go to. Always bring plenty to eat, so dining on the water occurs regularly as well. An indicator of a good day on the water, sees me eating my whole bag of whatever in the truck on the ride home. Happened past couple of trips. I'm a fan. A-Jay 5 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 I perform the best on a classic breakfast for athletes... old fashioned oatmeal and eggs. If I need something faster, usually a bagel and banana or similar works for me. Quote
MediumMouthBass Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 If im going for trout, bluegill, or crappie to bring home i dont eat breakfast and starve. Great motivator for catching my food. But as probably the only person on earth that dislikes almost all breakfast foods, either a protein shake or rice and chicken if im going for bass. Quote

Show up to my place 9am sharp tomorrow. Slow cooked grits or buttermilk biscuits. I will make you a believer 5 Quote

Haha. Always a good sign when there just isn't time to consume the food taken until the ride home. 1 Quote
FishTax Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 Bojangles. A Cajun filet biscuit is good hot or cold, so stick one on the yak 😎 Also bring Cliff bar and snacks on boat. I always run out of snacks. I was just chatting with a guy at church this morning about how fishing makes me hungry. I think pedaling kayak burns more calories than I take credit for. 1 Quote

Super User Mobasser Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 Sometimes a hard boiled egg cooked the night before, with one-piece of toast and sugarless jelly with coffee. This is usually around 4am. I woof it down quick. For early morning trips, I'm moving quickly. Quote

Super User LrgmouthShad Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 @FishTax if I have the opportunity to come back to NC for the winter holidays, we should try again for Thom-A-Lex or Badin. Bojangles before or after. 1 Quote
Super User Bankbeater Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 While I'm getting ready and loading the car, I will snack on a couple of Pop Tarts Before I leave I will have some fruit, and one or two cups of coffee. On the water I'll have some granola bars and some water. In the colder months I substitute a bowl of oatmeal for the Pop Tarts. Quote
Super User GreenPig Posted April 28, 2024 Super User Posted April 28, 2024 Sausage(patty), Egg, & Cheese on toast with light mayo, a 16oz whey protein shake, and 30 oz coffee. Quote
Woody B Posted April 28, 2024 Posted April 28, 2024 If it's a early trip it's usually an apple and a glass of unsweet tea. It's funny breakfast was mentioned today. Yesterday around 8AM I was hungry. I saw some kids camping on the bank. They had a fire going. As I went by I yelled "do y'all have some bacon and eggs for an old man?" One of them yelled back "all we've got is beer, do you want one?" Camping with plenty of beer, and no food could have been me several decades ago. 3 Quote
