kickbasskid Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 I want a baitcasting to us for topwaters and spinner baits. Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 30, 2006 Super User Posted December 30, 2006 For under a $100 you won 't find much available, you get a so-so reel and a lousy rod. For $110 you can get the Daiwa Procaster 6+1 reel/ BPS Bionic Blade rod, both are good. Quote
kickbasskid Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 What about a procaster tournament. Or the Bass Pro Shops Tourny. Quote
Super User Raul Posted December 30, 2006 Super User Posted December 30, 2006 The difference between the Tournament and The 6+1 in money is 10 dollars, the difference in quality you get for those extra 10 dollars is from earth to heaven, same applies to the rod. BPS reels are like a lottery ticket, you may get a good one or you may get a junkie one. Me ? I play safe, I don 't gamble nor purchase lottery tickets. But it 's your money Quote
kickbasskid Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 The bps was rated one of their top ten so I'm going with that one. Quote
Super User roadwarrior Posted December 30, 2006 Super User Posted December 30, 2006 This is what The Bait Monkey recommends. For $110 you can get the Daiwa Procaster 6+1 reel/ BPS Bionic Blade rod, both are good. I would listen to him. Quote
Ky_Lake_Dude Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Raul I got that same daiwa bionic blade combo for $59.99 at bassproshops and it works great. Quote
RiskKid. Posted December 30, 2006 Posted December 30, 2006 Jr Basser.....you have some very good advice from two experienced and very knowledgeable fisherman. I have on many occasion followed the recommendations of these two fellows. It has saved me from making some poor uninformed decicions which = money saved. I will also say that I have always been very happy with my purchases that were recommended by them. Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in based on my actual experiences. Food for thought........... kickbasskid Posted December 30, 2006 Author Posted December 30, 2006 Thanks for the advice. I'm going to get the 6+1 Daiwa reel. Quote
