For under a $100 you won 't find much available, you get a so-so reel and a lousy rod.

For $110 you can get the Daiwa Procaster 6+1 reel/ BPS Bionic Blade rod, both are good.

The difference between the Tournament and The 6+1 in money is 10 dollars, the difference in quality you get for those extra 10 dollars is from earth to heaven, same applies to the rod. BPS reels are like a lottery ticket, you may get a good one or you may get a junkie one. Me ? I play safe, I don 't gamble nor purchase lottery tickets.

But it 's your money

Jr Basser.....you have some very good advice from two experienced and very knowledgeable fisherman. I have on many occasion followed the recommendations of these two fellows. It has saved me from making some poor uninformed decicions which = money saved. I will also say that I have always been very happy with my purchases that were recommended by them. Just thought I'd put my 2 cents in based on my actual experiences. Food for thought...........
