michiganoutdoorsman Posted April 18, 2024 Posted April 18, 2024 My dad and I made it out this past weekend, it was pretty windy and quite cold. It was so slow, I’m not sure if the rain had them tight mouthed or if we just weren’t where we needed to be. First bass trip of the year and I was just happy to be out. I got to try out my new Garmin 106sv’s and they worked awesome! Water was 45.5°-47°. We fished for a few hours until I finally caught about a 2 pounder. It felt great to land the first bass of the season. Not 10 minutes later my dad hooks up, then I hooked up 2 seconds later! With both of us hooked up, I couldn’t believe we had a double with how slow it had been. My fish felt pretty solid, and it fought pretty well. I was happy to reach down and pull this big girl in the boat! My dad’s was quite a bit smaller than this one. We fished for a bit longer before calling it a day because we were getting beat up by the wind. Can’t wait to see what this season has in store! I’ve got LSC and GTB on the bucket list to hit this year and plan to go after I tag out on a turkey. Hope everyone has a great bass season! 5 Quote
