I am looking for a high end spinning rod for my weightless wacky rig.  Looking at Megabass Windbuster, NRX+.

What are yall thoughts?

Fish don’t know the difference between this rig or an Ugly Stik and Zebco spincast.

If you have the money and like it, buy it. I like it!

Kind of overkill for a dedicated wacky rod unless you have confidence in that blank over another for casting accuracy.  I just picked up a Physyx that I am liking for that presentation but it isn't like the Mojo Bass, Triumph, Dobyns Fury I used before this rod were slouches.  I just like shiny new things. ;)

NRX+ 852S is hard to beat - great for most spinning techniques actually - but mine almost always have a wacky tied on

a Daiwa Exist makes it even nicer 😉

I throw them on an NRX+ 803S and 872S. I like the 803S for a weighted wacky sekno, especially when skipping around docks and the 872S for long casts with a weightless senko.

I'm becoming a Megabass fanboy. Though most of my rods are StC

How are you liking the Physyx?

Yeah I am also looking at Megabass Orochii Whipsnake. I have heard the reel seat is super comfortable to hold. I’m a real seat snob.  Like to hold the reel seat on top on the reel with no fingers in-between the reel. I have a Dobbins ecstasy that supersensitive, but I just don’t think it’s very comfortable to hold onto so I’m probably probably gonna sell it.

90 percent of the time is going to be a wacky rig tied on. Looking at whipsnake and shakyhead Megasbass. I have heard there spinning rods are super comfortable to hold.

I will be fishing it today for the 2nd time. So far I am enjoying it. I am a fan of that handle style after buying a Zodias a little over a year ago. Balance with a Vanford 2500 makes it feel much lighter than you would think.  Hopefully get a bite today!  lol

Should I go Levante or Orochi?

I bought the shakeyhead levante recently. Very impressed after unpackaging but haven't hit the water with it yet. I fished the orochi ronin and its a fine rod too but not what you are looking for.

Wacky is pretty much my main technic..

Ive run a handful of rods in the past and a last year I got my hands on a Loomis 852 NRX+

Thing is awesome. Out side of cost of course but man can Loomis make a nice rod...

Dont get me wrong, I am a Megabass fan as well. I have a nice destroyer collection going on now but nothing so far compares to the NRX+

As others have mentioned, the NRX 852 is fantastic for wacky rigs. If you're throwing wacky 5" senkos I do not think there's a better rod for the technique, but if you wacky rig with a small finesse worm the Whipsnake would be a solid choice.

Thanks for all the feedback. So I decided to order a MB Orochi XX shaky head.  I figured I would start there. If I don’t like it I will probably return it and get NRX+ 852s or wait and save up for Shimano Poison Ultima. I just need a good rod and from what I have read it’s a great rod.

Not too muddy the waters but have you looked at SC Legend Elite or Legend Xtreme?
