Hmmmm... I seem to switch back and forth between favorites. Right now I'm liking my Curado K over my MGL and DC's. I also really like my Lew's Pro SP for pitching and skipping.

I have a hankering for a new reel, so tomorrow I'm heading to my local tackle shop and I'm considering a Tatula SV or a Lew's Custom Pro Speed Spool.

While I've upped my spending limit on reels the past few years, I still have not crossed the $300 barrier.

Update: I bought a Tatula SV TW today. It’s good, not great. Handles feel weird and it doesn’t seem to translate feel of the bait as well as my Curados.

21 zillion will be remembered as a legendary reel just like the pixy, tdz, conquest 50, curado 50e, chronarch d and the core.

I agree, even though I don't own a '21 Zillion.  I remember when the Calcutta came out ('93ish).  Man  that thing was all the talk.  At that time, $120 for it or the Daiwa Td hi seemed like a fortune.  I was in 9th grade.

That was about the time I purchased my first Daiwa SS Tournament 1300, ran me $99.99 from Sports Authority.  That was a fortune to 13 year old me.  I worked for my neighbor that summer and saved up for that reel.  Sadly, I lost it along with all of the other tackle I had acquired up to that point when my friend's boat was stolen.  That happened about 20 years ago.

Steez ct sv tw

Steez are nice looking reels (as they should be at their price).  I purchased my used ones at a time when I was lucky to get out 2 or 3 times a year so I used combos I already had set up.  I'm sure I will love mine too once they start seeing some action.

A couple reels I haven't seen mentioned that I really, really like are the Helios Air and the Primmus HS Xi.  MN Fisher mentioned his Patriarch.  I have the older blue colored Patriarch XTs.  I agree with him.  It's a shame Pflueger dropped so many of their models.  AFAIC, they were highly under-rated.
