That was the first thing I checked, again I'm getting notifications for threads I have not participated in at all, For instance, there's a current active thread named "New Electronics restricted Bass Tournament in the works ?" that I just suddenly started getting notified of comments about, I'm not subscribed to that particular thread nor the tournament fishing forum either per the follow/unfollow box at the top of the page. Just strange, not the end of the world, just a slightly annoying first world problem.

Upper left.  Click your name > settings > notification settings.

 

Also, if you "follow" a sub-forum, you'll get notifications for all the threads.  That way, you don't need to "follow" them individually. But, you'll also get notifications like you're getting.
