Guerendo might get a few snaps as well. I’m sure you’ve heard, now on IR and going to miss 4 weeks 1 Quote

Super User J._Bricker Posted September 15, 2024 Super User Posted September 15, 2024 I’ve got really nothing to say at this point over today’s unseen events. This is due to not seeing my Niners loose while I was burning burgers and hotdogs at my wife’s company picnic. Congrats to the Vikes on starting 2-0 and now heading to LA. 2 Quote

I was offered tickets to week 3 against Houston and expected them to be 1-1, not 2-0. Their defense is pretty solid. Better than I expected. Kevin O’Connell is 19-0 when his team wins or ties the turnover margin. He is winless otherwise. Pretty obvious stat that decides the outcome of games. 1 Quote

detroit1 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 The only highlight of the Lion's game was a fake punt (converted) from their own 20 yard line for a first down. Dan walks around with them in a wheelbarrow. Quote
Eric 26 Posted September 16, 2024 Posted September 16, 2024 (edited) As I sit and watch tonight’s game as a Chicago Bears fan I can’t help but feel defeated 🙁 I know this is only the second game and our offensive line is a bit sketchy but I’m seriously wondering if the quarterback class was overrated this year or if it’s our coaching staff as Caleb Williams has been extremely underwhelming in the past 2 games. I do welcome all opinions but especially from my fellow Bears fans such as @Mike L. Also @gimruis your Vikings are looking like the real deal this year. And as I’m typing this Caleb makes the ******* decision to throw into triple coverage for yet another interception 🤬🤯🤬🥵 Oh my lord it’s going to be a long season 😡🥵 I’m going to add it appears Caleb can’t seemingly read the defense either from what I’m watching 😩 Edited September 16, 2024 by Eric 26 Content Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted September 16, 2024 Global Moderator Posted September 16, 2024 Keep the faith brother Looks like they’re still having line call problems. I don’t like the play calling at all. Nagy was bad but this guy has no creativity at all. Seems like Houston knows what’s coming on almost every play and they aren’t anything special. At least Williams is trying but Shelton the center and the right guard look like a revolving door on every blitz. Williams doesnt have a chance At least it’s only the 2nd game Mike 1 Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted September 16, 2024 Global Moderator Posted September 16, 2024 4th and 16…… come on bungles. Of course it was a penalty not an actual play made but they did commit it Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted September 16, 2024 Super User Posted September 16, 2024 What odds would I have gotten two weeks ago if I had walked into Caesar's and said "Put $100 on Vikings being only 2-0 team in NFC North" ? 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted September 16, 2024 Author Super User Posted September 16, 2024 The over/under win total for the Vikings this season was 6.5. They only need to go 5-10 the rest of the way to hit that. Bears fans @Eric 26 and @Mike L, I wouldn't worry too much about Williams yet. Very rarely do rookie QBs come into the league and light it up. Stroud was pretty good as a rookie last season but he's an outlier. It takes time to adjust to the speed and defense of the NFL game, even as a high draft pick. As long as he continues to progress, that's the key. Usually they are significantly better their second season. 1 Quote

The kid was sacked 7 times, hit 11 and hurried 36! All in just his 2nd game as a pro. The O line had no answers for picking up the blitz which everybody should have known they were gonna do all night trying to rattle him, which they did. He wasn’t the problem, they just got in his head all night. Plus after all that it was still only a 1 score game. He’ll be fine..If he survives Mike 2 Quote

Super User gim Posted September 17, 2024 Author Super User Posted September 17, 2024 The Bengals actually have a talented roster. But they still can't win with it. The Broncos, well, they don't really have much right now, so losing is an expectation. I definitely didn't see the Bengals and Ravens out of the gate at 0-2 with the Steelers leading that division. Nor did I see the offensive eruption of the Saints. Quote

Bengals have started 0-2 in all of burrows years or maybe all but one. Made the Super Bowl that way and are the only team that can knock the chiefs out of the playoffs anymore haha 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted September 17, 2024 Author Super User Posted September 17, 2024 True. But digging a hole over and over again is not a good route to success. The majority of teams who start 0-2 do not recover from it. Losing to the Chiefs on the road is forgiveable. If they lose to the Commanders and/or Panthers, then its over. They should easily be 2-2 by the Ravens game in week 5. Quote
Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted September 17, 2024 Global Moderator Posted September 17, 2024 For the last 25 yrs before burrow they were lucky to win 2 games all season so I’ll take what they’ve got going on now. Not really liking Jamar chase turning into a premadonna tho 1 Quote
Super User J._Bricker Posted September 17, 2024 Super User Posted September 17, 2024 Bengals were kinda having problems with the KC and the Zebras. And what happened last night? I turned the channel with 2:00 on the clock and Philly was pretty much going into score and flipped the channel and find out Atlanta won? In other news, I guess with the way some teams started this season, a lot of teams starters are trying to get in game shape. Unfortunately this is causing key players to get hurt which is what teams were trying to avoid in the first place. Kinda throws a wrench in the works, just gotta hope those key players will be around for their teams playoff drive. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted September 17, 2024 Super User Posted September 17, 2024 No talk of the Saints demolishing teams averaging 45 per game ???? Oh wait !!! They played the Panthers and Cowboys.....my bad 😁 1 3 Quote

Unfortunately this is causing key players to get hurt which is what teams were trying to avoid in the first place. Starting players used to see a fair amount of time in the preseason. When there used to be 4 preseasons games, they would see a progressive increase each game, and then sit out the 4th one. The third presason game they would often play at least an entire first half, if not 3 quarters. The trend lately has shifted dramatically to almost no game action in the preseason for starting players. I understand the idea of avoiding an injury, but at what cost? They jump into week 1 and aren't in game shape/speed, and then get injured because of it. Not to mention how sloppy some teams look with all the penalties. I am not a coach and I never will be but I would see the benefit of playing the starters in the preseason for at least some action. Having them sit out the entire preseason and then expecting them to be at full week 1 game speed is not really reasonable. A lot of key players have been injured these first few weeks. Quote
