Super User Tennessee Boy Posted April 8, 2024 Super User Posted April 8, 2024 Lovely view of some dark clouds. Near perfect fishing weather but I was in the back yard looking at clouds. 1 2 Quote
KP Duty Posted April 8, 2024 Posted April 8, 2024 Yea, it was supposed to be 95% coverage here in Tulsa, but didn't get near as dark as when a severe thunderstorm rolls through Quote
Super User gim Posted April 8, 2024 Super User Posted April 8, 2024 I went outside at exactly 2:02pm when "peak eclipse" was to occur. It looked exactly like it did the rest of the day with a cloud deck over head. Birds still chirping too. Imagine that. 2 Quote
Super User Choporoz Posted April 8, 2024 Super User Posted April 8, 2024 Partly cloudy was actually good....I was able to look at and see the sun without glasses....and only partially fried retinas 1 Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted April 8, 2024 Super User Posted April 8, 2024 As Gimruis said - we had solid overcast all day long...no chance of even seeing Sol, much less Luna in front of it. Quote
The Bassman Posted April 8, 2024 Author Posted April 8, 2024 We had a perfect view here. I was conducting a thorough scientific experiment during most of the event. I concluded that fishing stinks during solar eclipses. 4 Quote

Global Moderator TnRiver46 Posted April 8, 2024 Global Moderator Posted April 8, 2024 Some people I know did fairly well during the “totality “ here in 2017 @The Bassman Quote
Super User N Florida Mike Posted April 8, 2024 Super User Posted April 8, 2024 I was out working in it and didn’t notice any difference in the light , and I tried hard to… Quote

Yesterday was windy, cloudy, and cool. Made for my best outing so far this spring. I stuck close to home today to avoid the predicted traffic apocalypse that never materialized. Quote

Super User F14A-B Posted April 8, 2024 Super User Posted April 8, 2024 This is my third one. It was ok, my location was about 99.8 totality. Had my equipment and was hoping to possibly see Jupiter with the Pons/Brook comet to its right. I wanted to get that shot if possible but no joy.. a lot of cloud cover and a Leer jet with William Shatner flying around the sky.. 🤣🤣🤣 Anyway. 1 Quote
Super User Log Catcher Posted April 8, 2024 Super User Posted April 8, 2024 It was so cloudy here you couldn't even tell where the sun was supposed to be in the sky. They say the next one we could see is 20 years from now. I hope the nursing home I will probably be in if I last that long will take me out to see it. Quote

IcatchDinks Posted April 9, 2024 Posted April 9, 2024 Everyone at work took a break and we all used our welding helmets to look at it. Coworker got a pretty cool photo of it. https://i.postimg.cc/d0kn9pj8/signal-2024-04-08-21-28-33-938.png 1 Quote
Super User scaleface Posted April 9, 2024 Super User Posted April 9, 2024 I thought it was stunning. Seen it twice now. This time a solar flare could be seen with the naked eye. Now I wish Betelgeuse would hurry up and explode. Quote
