I've got a Cashion Icon 7' light on the way. Second guessing myself now, I want to throw the Karashi but also some downsized jerkbaits. Does anyone have experience with a good BFS rod specifically for jerkbaits in the 1/4 ounce range? Do you think the Icon would work for that application?

I throw the Karashi, poppers, jerk baits ( Rapala X rap, husky jerk small sizes,  and minnow baits (Rebel broke back) on a Phenix Feather ML, and it's a perfect match.

I think you will be fine. I throw jerks in that same size range on the Dobyns SUF 7' LF which has identical ratings to the Icon. I don't find a shorter rod to be a huge advantage for BFS jerks since the motion is such a tiny pop.

I had the Cashion 6'10" ML rod, but felt it was clunky and weird feeling. I have never fished the 7' L Cashion.

The Megabass P5 Six Eleven has been favorite.  I fish all kinds of BFS stuff on it. It has just enough power to bring in some nice fish but it's soft enough to cast light baits a long way.

I have both of the Cashion rods and like them both. I use the 6'10 for neds, finesse jigs etc and use the 7' for small crankbaits and topwaters. Both have been a blast to fish with. I don't throw a lot of jerkbaits, but I would imagine the 7' rod would do well with them
