Two 10" garmin ultra or one 12" for kayak?

Found a good sale on garmin ultras. 

 

Trying to decide between, two 10" screens or one 12" for my nucanoe unlimited 

 

Thinking of upgrading to LS maybe next year and think the extra screen just for that could be beneficial.

Two head units take up a good bit of space, especially in a kayak. Not saying it isn’t doable, but it has to be planned for.

 I would opt for 2 10’s myself but being on a kayak that’s going to take up some room. So in your case I’d probably do  one 12”.

I think you need to first ask yourself how and where are you going to mount them. Are they going to interfere with your casting or landing a fish?

 

At the very least, make some cardboard cutouts and tape them to some mounts to get an idea of how the layout will work for you. Maybe you'll find that one head unit works and it's easy to switch views. Maybe the bigger unit is large enough to display the views you need on one screen.

 

I have a 9" Garmin on my AP 120 and I custom built a center console for it. So far, I've found that's all I need since I mainly use FFS. But it's easy to flip to DI, SI, or a combo view. That being said, if I so decide I have just enough room to mount my Helix 7 to that center console as well.

I had 10 and 12 inchers on my bass boat. When I went to a kayak, I bought 9 inchers and think they are plenty big enough. You're right there and they are front center and easy to see, interpret images, Livescope, etc.

You can do what you want with one graph. It's much easier to do with multiple graphs. If you have the money for 2 graphs, I don't see the issue.

Real state in a kayak is at a premium. For me I didn't make sense to have a second screen that I could still look at with a click of a button on a screen that is at arm's reach. I do understand in a boat where you are running at much, much faster speed and you need more info to make quick decisions.
