Cigarlover 1 Posted December 19, 2006 Posted December 19, 2006 Anybody have one of these? Christmas came a little early this year. Got one paired with a BPS 6' 6 M graphite series rod. Just wondering what to expect out of it. Quote
Super User 5bass Posted December 20, 2006 Super User Posted December 20, 2006 Alot of people knock Pinnacle gear but I'd estimate that 75% of them are going on hear-say and havent actually owned any Pinnacle rods or reels.I cant speak for the rods but I do own some of the Pinnacle Matrix reels, they work great and I have yet to have any problems from them after 3+ years of use and abuse. Hawgin Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 Speaking of hear-say. I do not personally own a pinnacle, but my two fishing buddies both use pinnacle reels and rave about them. One of them sold his green curado's and now has Matrix on all 8 of his set ups. He tells me that are slightly heavier than other reels because they are 100% metal, but he also swears they are the smoothest, nicest reels he has used. Quote
Daniel My Brother Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I picked up a Pinnacle Extant HS Metal baitcaster from Wally World. I'm very pleased with it after 1 full season of heavy use. 1 question, anyone know who performs maintenance on these reels? Not many people talk about Pinnacles. Quote
Fatman1267MM Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I am one of the fishin' buddies hawgin speaks of. I have two of the Vision LP Metals and absolutely love them. They seem to cast just as smooth as Hawgin's Pfluegers and they also hold up to the abuse pretty well. Rogers in Liberty, MO gave me the name and number of a guy in Independence MO that services them, but I seem to have misplaced it. Just give Rogers Sporting Goods in Liberty a call and ask them for his name and number. The girls there swear by him, and they usually know what they are talking about. Quote
Lucky Craft Man Posted December 20, 2006 Posted December 20, 2006 I found a Pinnalce Tara baitcaster that I forgot I had (I estimate it was sitting away in a box for 8 years). I took it apart, replaced the drag washers, clean, oiled, and greased it throughout. It works as if it were brand new. Smooth as can be and casts a mile. I also have Pinnacle Lucille spinning reel that I use for Steelhead, and it works great as well. I have nothing but positive things to say about Pinnacle. Quote
Super User MALTESE FALCON Posted December 20, 2006 Super User Posted December 20, 2006 I HAVEN'T USED THEIR BAITCASTERS, BUT I HAVE TWO DEADBOLT SPINNING REELS AND I LOVE THEM. FALCON Quote
