I'm in the market for a Budget spinning reel in a 3000 size. $30 is right around my price point. I know that people will recommend things like the Shimano sienna or the daiwa crossfire, those are excellent reals by all counts, but everyone who's doing budget almost is going to one of those reals. I like a little bit of color in my setup and the centron is right up my alley. Whether we're talking about the standard centron or the centron light which is a white graphite body with a blue spool. I think both of those reels look pretty sharp. I see a lot of Kastking on YouTube but I don't have a whole lot of experience with them. Has anyone here owned or used one for at least 6 or 8 months? That can give me an opinion on the reel. I'm looking to use it for bass and for catfish. I know most people would say I should get 4000 or larger size Rio for catfish. But I have fished catfish for 40 some odd years on bass gear so I don't have an issue with it. A decent bass reel will handle catfish if you use your drag properly. Anyway, I'm looking for any kind of input from experience about this reel. Thanks in advance for your help.

I have one Kastking reel that I bought as try-out. I figured if it was junk I wouldn’t be out much money. It’s a KastKing WhiteMax casting reel. It’s been slinging Spinnerbaits for me for well over 5 years now and hasn’t had any issue. I can’t speak for their spinning reels or anything besides the White Max, but surprisingly the reel holds up and does it’s job reliably. For a $70 reel, that’s more than I expected.

I don't own any but I have a buddy who runs a couple Kastking sharkys and I think a spartacus and liked them. I will toss out a rec for the Okuma avenger, I have a couple on loaner rods and they're solid for ~$30.

My fishing partner has 5 Okuma Ceymar spinning reels and brags about them every trip...... check them out.

I have (1) Kastking Sharky spinning reel and have no complaints.
