Super User LrgmouthShad Posted March 15, 2024 Super User Posted March 15, 2024 Hey Put a z hog on a jig 3 Quote
Super User casts_by_fly Posted March 15, 2024 Super User Posted March 15, 2024 Boarhogz are my go to ‘finesse’ Texas rig. Small profile, smaller size that suits light line and a thin hook. Add an eighth or quarter ounce weight and you’re in. also, if you like that profile, throw a rage Ned bug on a finesse jig like a lil man jig. https://siebertoutdoors.com/products/ols/products/rage-magnum-bug-rg-mgn-bug1 1 Quote

Fishin Dad Posted March 16, 2024 Posted March 16, 2024 I have a few packs of these I got on sale but have never used them. Maybe I should pull them out and try them. Why do you like them?? 2 Quote
Super User LrgmouthShad Posted March 16, 2024 Author Super User Posted March 16, 2024 @Fishin Dad first and foremost they get bit. I played around for a while with various “do nothing” beaver-style trailers. This is my favorite I’ve found. Stays on a hook well, skips great, good gliding fall, works fine hopping bottom too, gives good bulk to the jig. As @N Florida Mike mentioned, they are a good t-rig bait too. Caleb Kuphall won Guntersville years back punching mats with this bait. 4 Quote

I am going to give these a try for my beaver style baits. I think I only have one color, maybe Junebug. I hope I like them. Thank you. 2 Quote

At the very least you’ll have opened the pack and given them a shot! @Catt is right anything works on the back of a jig. But I certainly have favorites 3 Quote

Or jigs that rusted because you stored them in the pork rind jar. Or dealing with the lure wraps that you wrapped around your rod and kept the rinds wet during the day. Yeah, those were all annoying.
