07Rapala Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 I was using a Vision 110+1 Jr. yesterday and noticed that the lure held a vertical orientation in the water. Is this normal? I'm 90% sure it was nose down, but can't remember exactly right now. I may or may not have traded out some hooks last fall to adjust the buoyancy and get it to sink very slowly. Maybe I messed something up? Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted March 14, 2024 Super User Posted March 14, 2024 110s should suspend horizontally...either something is off with the balance, or you've gotten water in the hollow inside the lure. Quote
Super User AlabamaSpothunter Posted March 14, 2024 Super User Posted March 14, 2024 Out of the box they're a nose down bait. Something like the Shimano World Minnow is a perfectly horizontal Jerkbait 1 Quote
Super User gim Posted March 14, 2024 Super User Posted March 14, 2024 Maybe cast the vision off some rocks or pontoons and that'll make it neutrally buoyant horizontally. 2 Quote
Logan S Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Vision 110's sit nose-down when paused pretty noticeably....Like a 45 degree angle downward. They are slow floaters not suspenders (out of the box). 2 Quote

Shadow1 Posted March 14, 2024 Posted March 14, 2024 Most of mine stock out of the box were nose down slightly. Is your a silent version? The silent ones I have are the most inconsistent as to how they suspend. Quote
07Rapala Posted March 14, 2024 Author Posted March 14, 2024 Mine is down more like a 70 or 80-degree angle. Maybe I messed with the weight distribution too much. I'll check it out tonight. Quote
JN94 Posted March 15, 2024 Posted March 15, 2024 They are designed to suspend nose down. Nothing is wrong with your lure 1 Quote
07Rapala Posted March 16, 2024 Author Posted March 16, 2024 In the bucket it looks like it’s about 60-degrees nose down, I swear it was more out on the lake. Looks like the original hooks. I’m going to put a bit heavier hook on the back, it’s rising faster than I would like anyway. Quote
scmlfty Posted March 30, 2024 Posted March 30, 2024 I have 8 of them, all of them are nose down in the water, like 45-60 degree, I'm sure it's by design, the tungsten weights change the center of gravity to the front. Quote

Crow Horse Posted April 4, 2024 Posted April 4, 2024 The weights might have been in the "cast" location (rear of lure). A quick shake will move them to the retrieve position. Quote
