My wife's kin lives in Clermont. I'm in the planning stages of a trip down there for a visit. While she visits her sister, I plan on visiting the water!

I Googled and saw plenty of water around there. Are there any particular places (fishing or otherwise) that anyone would recommend? I do not have a bass boat. I do have a plastic bass tracker though that I'll probably take. So bank fishing and kayak access/electric friendly is what I'm looking at.

What time of year would be best for bass fishing? Spring to fall like everywhere else?

I'm just in the planning phases right now - probably this will be several years out, but I am quite excited lol.

Several YEARS out?  🤣

LOL, yeah. It could be this year, but more likely a year or two. I've been thinking about it a year already.

I reckon folks here never plan a trip a few years out.

Sure they do, you just have to find someone familiar to the area you are looking at.  We plan a year out to go to Florida in February and I already have lodging lined up for Headwaters in Fellsmere.  We also go to Lake St Clair every May for smallmouth and the lodging is reserved a year out.  Maybe identify some of the lakes you are looking at and you’ll get better responses.

Ah okay. I was thinking someone from the area would offer info like lake X is a must hit while you're there, or is small boat friendly.

If you are going to be in Clermont you will be on one of the best bass fishing lakes in the country! It is huge so it will be like fishing a new lake everyday.

Skip the Clermont Chain and drive north to the Harris Chain.  The Clermont Chain is tough due to all the development.  All the Harris Chain lakes are good, but the hot lake right now is Griffin.  Offshore Hydrilla is plentiful and the fish are easy to find. The best fishing month is April.  By then most of the big tournaments are over and the cold fronts back off.  Summers are hot and humid. Winters are a toss up depending on the number of cold fronts.  All the small local lakes hold good fish if you can gain access.

Clermont is ok, fished it a few times.
I agree that Harris would be better choice with Kissimmee an even better one.

But you being 2 yrs out nothing we say now will matter anyway
