I love 'em all. I was drift boat fishing with a couple accomplished female anglers. There were three guys in another drift boat on a different river. The guys were boating smallies with about half a dozen being four-and-five-pounders. Ours were five ounces, not for lack of skill, but our river simply wasn't generous that day. 

 

And when I wished that we were on the guys' river, the lead angler said, "They're all good."

 

I've never forgotten that and I try to be grateful for every bass.

There are a lot of Lake Menderchucks. Michigan is loaded with big bass. Some of the best fishing days of my life have been in Michigan.

Went with #2. I'm always out for a big fish. I would rather catch one epic fish than a bunch of dinks.

I like #2 because I setup each rod with that exact same thought in mind, "what will get me that big bite?" I know that bite is there. I know it's only a matter of time. Along the way I still get a lot of #1's.

#1  might make me not want to go.  At best it would make me leave early.

#2  yes, please!

#3  Don't need to know.  It's always windy here.  If you don't fish in the wind, you don't fish.  Today it's listed as SSW 23mph with gusts of 35.  It's probably a bit stronger than that in reality.  It sure feels like it is anyway.  

#4   I just assume someone always is.

I chose the wind & weather . I’ll go sit on someone’s spot with FFS and catch all of their fish lol. And with having FFS   I’ll know quickly what the size is and what presentation will be best.  Weather is my main factor.

None of the above. In a way I'd feel like I was cheating. For me, fishing for bass is a mind game and I want to do it all on my own (if that makes sense). I don't want to have an inside track unless I put myself there.

So this one's been going for a couple of days now.

Just for some context, 'the biggest bass for today'

doesn't necessarily mean a trophy or even a plus sized fish.

Might just be the only 12 incher of a day full of even smaller bass.

I'm not say'in, just saying.

I went with #2 when answering the poll question. I figured if that’s the case I'd be able to unload about 60 plus pounds of rods and gear from the floating tackle box which would equate to better fuel economy and time management. I’d be fishing with one rod in hand, one bait or package of baits and just concentrating on catching a monster bass.

Weather conditions tell me more about fish location, thus telling me presentation and lure choices, thereby telling me how big and how many I’ll catch.
