nullbass Posted March 7, 2024 Posted March 7, 2024 Hi, I'm trying to get out on the water as much as possible and the closest finger lake to me is Silver Lake. I haven't fished the lake enough to really know where to find them, especially in the weather where nights are in the 30s and day temps are 50-60s. This week I went out and the water temp ranged from 40-45* based on location on the lake. I saw fish (don't know if they were bass) in the center of the lake where its ~35 ft deep. Fish were suspended from 10ft to the bottom but I couldn't get any to bite. I want to go back next Wednesday with a game plan. Simply put, I don't know enough about breaking lakes down esp with cold water. Docks were not out yet, there were no metal structures to radiate heat down like dock poles. I stayed towards the south end of the lake as I am using a Kayak with trolling motor. I can make a run to the North, it's on my list of things to do, the lake isn't large. The weather for the next 10 days for context, thank you! Quote
Brandon94 Posted June 16, 2024 Posted June 16, 2024 I live on silver lake on the north side I also kayak no motor tho , I have grabbed pike and cat fish and Alot of bass trolling along about 30 feet from shore I also see a group of kids doing it often( I asked them and they told me) Quote
JackstrawIII Posted June 19, 2024 Posted June 19, 2024 Man, out fishing in March is impressive. I usually don't get on the water until mid April at the earliest. Used to live out in that neck of the woods, but never fished Silver Lake. Looks like that lake gets deep rather quickly. I'd be fishing those north and south sides where the slope is more gradual early in the year and into the prespawn. How have you been doing this time of year? Quote
