Shimano Reel Warranties Transferable?

I have been scouring EBAY recently for deals on certian fishing equipment...namely reels. I have found a few good deals on some lightly used reels and was wondering if the warranties on these reels is transferable. They are both higher end Shimano reels. I doubt the warranties are transferable, but I am not 100% sure of that so I guess it doesn't hurt to ask. Maybe RW or ReelMech may know the answer to this one.

Shimano Reel Warranty

Shimano warrants to the original purchaser that this product will be free from non-conformities in material or workmanship for the period of one year from the date of purchase.

To request repairs (or non-warranty service) send your reel, postage pre-paid, to the Shimano Authorized Warranty Center nearest you. Retailers and wholesale outlets are not required or authorized to perform warranty repairs or exchanges on behalf of Shimano. If sending your reel to Shimano directly, please call for verification on due date as some seasons experience high volume.

All warranty requests must be accompanied by a dated sales receipt, your name, address, telephone number (daytime), email address (optional), and a brief description of the issues related to your warranty request.

The following items will not be covered under warranty:

Non- ARB Ball Bearings, Roller Bearings

Thanks RM that's what I figured. I was considering bidding on a used reel, but I would really like to have my gear backed by the factory warranties for any of those "just in case" scenarios.

Just something to think about. It's also a cost benifit equation. I now have 2 Calais s, 2 Chronarch 50mgs, 1 TE200DC, 1 Calcutta 400, 1 Stella, 1 Twin Power (Sustain), and 2 Stradics. Of all those reels I only bought 2 of them new. If you can save $150 or $200 by getting them used and send them to Reelmech and spend another 30-40-50 to make them  better than new, your still way ahead of the game. A high end Shimano, unless it's been run over by a truck, will not give you much trouble. If one of my high end Shimanos should break, I will send it to RM even if it's under waranty. His prices are right and I know it's done right. JMHO

That's kinda what I have been thinking too. I have heard a great many things about his service. Some of the prices that I have seen on ebay are kinda hard to pass on. I am not quite ready for it yet, but when I am I think that just might be what I do. Makes good sense to me.
