I know there was a lot of talk about the Tackle Warehouse website changes, but after messing with it for a while now, I am liking it.  I was very perplexed when it first came out.  I am not tech savvy and don’t like change much.   I have to say it wasn’t so bad after all.  They have offered some nice sales lately again as well.  At least for some of the stuff I was looking for.
Just wanted to give them some props after the beating they took.

Change is never easy. Especially when you're forcing change on a demographic that is known for hating change....namely a bunch of crusty bassheads. After a few hours digging around, I too have figured it out and am back to enjoying the set up.

I am going to 85 in a couple of weeks & not close to to figuring it out. Been looking at other sites & found a couple that I can use.

Maybe once they get their rod section figured out again to make it "friendly" like it was before. Example... if you want the incredibly popular G Loomis MBR 844 you can't just choose the 844 model anymore. To select it you have to know the first two numbers are length (choose 7') and of the three power/taper options it's the heavy fast option. Only after adding that to your cart does it show it's the 844 version. That's pretty lame IMO.

Another example is Megabass since they name all of their rods. If you don't know the exact specs you have to go to someone else's website to see what the named rod's specs are and then go back to TW to select those specs. Once again, add it to the cart and it finally shows what you needed in the first place (rod's name).

Maybe just me, but I found the old site easier to navigate.

It seems to take a lot more clicks to get to where I need to go now.

There's nothing better about the new format, with the rod section very sucky now. Used to make perfect sense, but not anymore. At least they seemed to have fixed their shipping issues. My stuff comes quickly now.

These are the main issues I have with the site. Thankfully I think I'm done buying rods for a while. Unless that changes.

my 2 biggest issues were looking up rods and when you tried to select by manufacturer.

Manufacturers were not in any type of order, they now have an order but their format is still not as easy as it could/should be. Better but still room for improvement.

Rods is a big miss like everyone is saying. You go to the bottom description and it doesnt have power or length (aside from in the model number) but to select the rod you want to buy you have to select the length and power. Now most brand's model numbers have that info in it but I was browsing through rods and I remember one or 2 did not follow the typical model number scheme. I cant recall the brand(s) but it was very frustrating. I've had better luck selecting the length/power up top and then hitting "view specifications" but that takes the ease of browsing out of it and I don't see myself "accidently" stumbling across a rod I don't necessarily need but would pick up.

Still prefer the old site but I am now in a place with A-Jay where I don’t really care what it looks like, just keep the discounts and sales going and keep the shipping times reasonable. They’ve been doing great recently.

I don't have any problem navigating the site, because the Bait Monkey sits right next to me at the computer and guides my fingers to make all the right clicks.  I wish they would make a site that is Monkey proof.

This. They made it unnecessarily more complicated.

At first I hated it.  Now, I like it.  Because I have gone from visiting multiple times a week to maybe once a month.

I’ve not had any issues with it, use it quite a bit. Click on Rods, click on spinning or casting, click on brand???

what’s so confusing ?

You shouldn't have to "figure out" how to buy something from a website.

The entire process should be intuitive and easy.

It's still horrible in mobile. The search engine stinks. And there are so many categories but I can't find the thing I am looking for.

I don't like it - the old site was easy to navigate and other sites just do it better.

"If you don't know the exact specs you have to go to someone else's website to see what the named rod's specs are and then go back to TW to select those specs. "

That's the truth. I just looked at the Conquest casting rods and they wanted me to pick M, MH, H. I shook my head and went elsewhere so I could see all the specs of all the rods at once. I haven't decided if I want a duplicate of one of their MH rods - I have 3 - or another H or maybe even a M. I want to see the whole chart at a glance to compare and contrast where the similarities and differences are.

I suppose it's fine if you know the length you want, the action your want or even the precise model number.

Heck, I picked H and the list they showed made me scroll a bit to the right to see which handle each one had. I tried zooming in and out, but I still had to scroll for that tiny bit of info.

Imagine you are a newer angler and want a rod called a "Blade Bait Special" , "Deep Crankbait" or "Froggin" as it's aptly named...you can't even choose that anymore on their site. That's a complete oversight on their part - catering to newer or inexperienced anglers.

If you are looking for a Loomis or Megabass rod that are known by their numbers and names respectively it's difficult. You have to know exactly what the length,  lure weights and line weights are to find them. Other brands seem to be less awkward.

To everyone saying they kind of like it now have been spending too much time (and money) on it that you are now used to it (I'm guilty as well).. its just as bad as when they replaced it.

I really miss how easy it was to look at options and colors just by scrolling.

This.

It's costing them money. My son and I both just purchased NRX+'s from TW's competitor since it was a pain to search through their rods.

Pretty dumb.

Looks like they lost all of the comments and product reviews.  Not too thrilled with that part.

The old site was easier to use, but the new one has gotten much better since it was released.

what this post made me realize, is that it has been around a year and a half since I ordered from TW. They used to get 90 percent of my fishing budget.
