Super User MN Fisher Posted February 28, 2024 Super User Posted February 28, 2024 Daiwa Procyon 7'0" ML/XF - $80 or Daiwa Procyon 7'0" L/F - $80 - this is the rod I used for Neds and Drop Shots until I got my Mojo 6"10" ML/XF 1 Quote

Super User MN Fisher Posted February 28, 2024 Super User Posted February 28, 2024 Strong as any other rod in that price-class - personally I think the under $100 Daiwa rods are way under-rated. I'd pit a $50 Aird-X against any other makers $80-$90 rods - and the Procyons compare favorably with Dobyns Furys...yes, I have Furys and preferred my Procyon to my Fury 702 for Ned/DS. 1 Quote
Super User Bird Posted February 28, 2024 Super User Posted February 28, 2024 Under $100 for drop shot is endless, seriously. Quote

It was actually pretty good with trick worms. 7 ft M Ugly stik inshore lite and a 6 ft M Lightning rod shock. Best beater rod pairing. Zoom finesse worm on the lightning rod shock and a trick worms on the trick worm. Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted March 2, 2024 Posted March 2, 2024 If you can get a 13 Omen black 3, I would check them out. They're on sale for 100 or cheaper. 1 Quote
SAL321 Posted March 2, 2024 Posted March 2, 2024 There is a 13 Fishing rod on sale at TW. They are solid. But as mentioned there are a ton of rods under that price point. My favorite drop shot rod is the Dobyns Fury 7'2. It's got great sensitivity and performs just as good as rod that I have 2X that. It's over $100 but worth IMO> Quote

Might be a little stout for dropshots but it’s a great WR or weightless TR rod for sure. Procyons are decent sticks. Quote
Super User Columbia Craw Posted March 5, 2024 Super User Posted March 5, 2024 Dobyns Maverick 692SF. Best bang for the buck rod series in my view. Quote
mcipinkie Posted March 5, 2024 Posted March 5, 2024 BPS Crankin Stick. 6' - 6 M or ML, whatever you like. BPS rods get no love, but I use the Crankin Sticks for all my movement baits - Cranks, jerks, chatter baits, spinner baits, buzz baits, etc. You can pay more, but these are fine pull bait rods. 2 Quote
SproDD79 Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 Majorcraft Basspara 7ft ML , you can get it for $100 during a sale at TW. Quote
JackstrawIII Posted March 6, 2024 Posted March 6, 2024 I've been very happy with the Ark Tharpe 6'10 ML. Great rod and can be had for under $100. Quote
