I have $300 in trade-in value to burn and can stack it on top of a 20% discount so I feel it's a great opportunity to swing for the fences and upgrade my spinning rod.  I have a few NRX+ casting models and thinking about scooping up the 852s, but wondering if it's worth forking over another $100 or so for the Conquest 842.  I plan on using it mostly for wacky rig senkos, maybe a little drop shot and ned rig mixed in there too.  Anyone have experience with both?  Which one do you think is better for wacky rigs and to also serve as my lone, general purpose, spinning rod?

I prefect the 842 fast action over 852 extra fast but both of these models are versatile. The 842 can do all the things you mentioned well. The 852 is powerful and better for wacky and weightless plastics. For all-purpose I tend to lean more toward the 842S. The conquest is a hair more powerful than the NRX + in 842S models. Not by much but it is.

Thanks, I definitely prefer a traditional fast over an extra fast too although wacky weightless senko is my rig of choice on spinning 95% of the time so I'm a bit torn.

The Conquest isn't more sensitive than the NRX, so I'd just go with the model that fits your needs.

I have a couple of both if wacky will be the main and almost only use I'd go with the +852S.  1 of mine keeps a wacky on it 100% of the time love skipping under docks and overhangs with it great rod.  I tried wacky on the Conquest a few times and seemed to not get as good of hooksets with it same with flukes.

I will say if you want 1 rod to do ALL I'd go with the Conquest/NRX+ 842S though.  I use mine for shad raps, frittside jr's, 4" neko rigs, little swim baits, jerkbaits, and dropshot(not much since I don't fish it often).

Conquest isn't worth the extra $$ over NRX+ imo at full retail currently $125 more than NRX+.  I was patient and got both mine used in great condition on another forum.
