I can’t either but I still love to watch it . You can learn quite a bit if you pay attention, all the stuff we read in the magazines was just a guess on what bass do , and mostly incorrect

You can ride around slowly with FFS to find Bass but you can also do the same thing with older technologies.

Agree 100%.  But it takes much greater skill to use older technologies.

I'm not the type of person that wants to ban things

Correct me if I’m wrong, but I don’t think anyone is advocating for a complete ban. A lot of us here just think there needs to be limitations in place. It’s no different than the size of an outboard or boat, or limiting the geographical portion of the lake you can fish.

Right now it just seems like an arms race for electronics and advanced technology.

I don’t personally know what a limitation would like like but someone has suggested number of screens or total screen limitations. That’s seems reasonable.

If I had to lay down a bet at this point, I’d go with a limit of 2 FFS transducers on a boat (1 fresh, 1 salt, vertical; or 1 vert and 1 horiz/perspective) combined with either a max combined screen limit per boat (in inches) or a max number of units per boat.

First, I think there's way too many screens and transducers.  Don't want to put out the wrong impression there.

Is it greater skill, or just different skill.   Skills needed for pretty much anything change due to "progress".   I'm an automotive technician.   Decades ago I made a bunch of money rebuilding carburetors, replacing points, rebuilding brake calipers, master cylinders and wheel cylinders.  There hasn't been a carburetor or points on a new automobile is decades.  Brake calipers master cylinders ect are no longer rebuilt, they're just replaced.  Now everything on an automobile is computer controlled....and not there isn't a magic machine that will diagnose a broken wire or faulty circuit board.   To make a living I had to develop a different set of skills.   Many of the tools still in my tool box are now obsolete too.

Regarding other sports.   (I also have a background in auto racing)   Jeff Gordon would have never won a single Nascar race without the addition of power steering and radial tires.  Before these additions drivers had to be big to handle the cars.

There's many more examples in drag racing, and other motorsports.
