Use whatever barbed ones you prefer

and just mash the barbs down with a pair of flat pliers.

This is what I'm doing at the moment on a few lures. But wanted to explore other options

I crush the barbs on all my trebles with a pair of needle nose non serrated jaws. Hemostats can sometimes be used as well.

Other more specialized tools I use to crush barbs. I believe they are dental tools that I found at a yard sale. They work great. I'm a toolaholic....

I’ve been considering going barbless since my son and I both buried hooks in hands this year and getting outrageous bills from  urgent care to remove them! I would image they pull out real easy with out the barb.

Panther Martin, Rooster Tails and Mepps make some inline spinners that have one single hook. Panther Martin makes a barbless single hook. They work.

Yeah this is kinda my thought too! I hate trebles. Really just avoided hard lures for a while but have experimented with inline hooks recently that I like in some cases. I think they aren't the best for suspending lures where you can have some slack line and you need a fish to hook itself when it bites your lure. So now exploring barbless trebles for those

I like this idea, I changed some trebles to singles last year but don't care for the way they swim.

Over the last two or three years, I've replaced the trebles on all my lures with barbless trebles.  Same reason as everyone else.  It's easier for me to get the hooks out of the fish, my clothes and me.  It's not that great of a jump for me.   I do a lot of fly fishing and I've been using barbless hooks for years and I'm use to them.

Which ones do you use?

Yinz haven't lived until you flip an angry Pickerel into your kayak with a vision 110 hanging out of its mouth and it hooks you in the thigh through 3 layers and the hand through your gloves. The level of fun is nigh impossible to express.

Here's what I do to avoid fun situations like the one you mentioned. I have a floating net that I'll guide the fish into. I'll grab it with a leashed fish grip and then go to work unhooking it. The fish doesn't leave the water until the hook(s) are removed and is then lifted to catch it on the video cameras and then released. I have a sit in yak so flipping it in isn't an option for me. I don't handle the fish at all to avoid disturbing the slime coating and minimize stress to the fish. It also keeps the fish at a safe distance. I feel it works well.

Oh, I have a floating net and all that stuff. It doesn't stop me from doing dumb stuff.

I'd be interested in barbless trebles as well.  @Glenn needs to tell Gamakatsu we need barbless trebles in our lives.

I believe Gama does offer a barbless treb. They appear to be limited on sizes though. It's crazy that almost no one sells them

I'm pretty sure they're VMC.   I got them from Barlow's.  It's also possible I got them from Jann's Netcraft.  The 2024 Barlow's catalog has them.  I haven't gotten a 2024 catalog from Jann's Netcraft yet.  You can probably check on line to see if Jann's carries them

Awesome, I'll check them out!
