Fenwick world class

I just got my World class from the good folks at ALF. Super impressed so far. I haven't had much time with it yet but the build quality is impressive.

The guys that are in charge of the redesign came from Loomis/Shimano so it's no surprise many of the Loomis actions are mimicked through the line up

I have the 7ft 3 MH (873)  They also have the 7ft1 MH and H, 853 and 854 ect.

I have a Curado MGL on mine and the balance is fine. At $ 200 less than NRX they definitely worth a look.

How'd you get one so cheap? Aren't they $400+?

NRX's MSRP is $600+, so "$200 less" sounds about right. 

 

I got some of the last gen of World Class rods when they were on sale. Pretty decent rods with the proprietary 3M Powerlux 500 Resin, light, strong, and sensitive (though not NRX sensitive), but $400+ seems a bit too much. Two things I like the most - one is the slightly slower action, which applies to most of Fenwick rods; the other is the lifetime warranty.  One of my fishing buddies broke his during a hookset, and Fenwick sent him one of the new gen rods, free of charge.

Oh, duh. I totally read that wrong/too fast. I thought he said he got the rod for $200. Note to self: Don't go on Bass Resource as soon as you wake up.

I have fished the older model also The new design is head and shoulders better at least in my hands.

NRX good? probably not, but GLX good.

I’m considering purchasing one of the World Class casting rods. What are your thoughts on the rod after fishing it a bit?

I am also curious of how you like the World Class. Really good looking rod and I am wanting to try something new.

I really can't find fault with it. I liked the build and it's plenty sensitive .Mine got broken when my boat got destroyed during our 4th of July tornado. But I would definitely buy another.
