It can happen, too bad it happened on camera. Yeah, happened to be watching that on Live when it happened. The location of that break on the hookset looked pretty consistent with being previously stepped/laid on. I'm surprised that doesn't happen more often with the way some of those guys sprawl out their rods on both sides of the deck and then semi-panic as they attempt to lip/land a nice fish. 1 Quote

Good enough that I was curious to feel it with a Daiwa Kage 2000 on it. Felt well balanced, but the reel foot would squirm no matter how hard I tightened the reel seat. I am always suspicious of fancy proprietary reel seats as I have had some . . . . 'interesting' experiences with them. The shop guy suggested a try a Shimano Vanford 2500 in it and the squirm was 99% gone. I think I could live with that. Great feeling combo. This is exactly why I sold my baitcasting model. The real seet was so bad and never felt tight enough. The spinning version I really really like though. Quote
wonkyrig Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 The blanks are nice but they ruined them with the grips. These rods are heavy - ~6 ounce rods, ridiculous for the price point. Their idea was to weight the butt section to counterbalance the tip to make it easier to shake a minnow on scope. While that's completely unnecessary, it's also dumb to do it to the casting rods. The carbon grip on the spinning is made to put your whole hand above the reel foot, it's uncomfortable if you hold it how you're traditionally supposed to. And the grip on the casting models digs into my fingers. IMO they need to take these blanks and make a B version with split grip cork and the bait holder in a non-intrusive spot. Shame, because the blanks feel great. Quote
Craig P Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 I’m using the casting version PHXC68MXF as a pseudo BFS small spinbait setup. Hands down, this has been my favorite setup this year, catching most of my bass. Super sensitive and casting is a dream, at times, it seems like it’s almost magic, there is not a cast I can’t make tight to banks with brush. I am also running the spinning version PHXS71MF for senkos and swim baits but honestly, I don’t use it much as I can’t stop using spinbaits but it is the only spinning setup that I make room for on the boat. I don’t know the weight but these rods feel lighter than my Dobyns Champion XP 702C. In hand, you won’t be able to tell a difference when comparing these to the Poison Adrena. Unlike the Poison Adrena, it has a nice long warranty too. I would buy again if needed. 1 Quote
Texas Flood Posted October 29, 2024 Posted October 29, 2024 I dont have a PhysyX yet(TW wishlist) but I do have a few of the Mojo Trigons and I actually like the handles when fishing bottom contact baits. Im excited to try one because the cork on the Mojo's have started to split open. Quote
