Super User WRB Posted February 19, 2024 Super User Posted February 19, 2024 The new series is being introduced at the classic, has anyone tested this rod? Tom Quote
Super User webertime Posted February 20, 2024 Super User Posted February 20, 2024 Looks like a LTB with a different grip. Same tapers and powers (and blank and price) as the new LTB. I guess if you dig the trigon handle you'll love this rod. Quote
Super User FishTank Posted February 20, 2024 Super User Posted February 20, 2024 A bit of a closer look. I am not sure how to feel about this one yet. I will need to hold one. Looks cool though. It doesn't appear to be your typical St. Croix rod. Quote
FrnkNsteen Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 Anyone know where these are going in the price scale? I assume mid to upper levels since they already reworked the lower level Mojo rods. Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted February 20, 2024 Global Moderator Posted February 20, 2024 High 3’s to Low 4’s across the line for casting or spinning Mike 1 Quote
Hulkster Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 I won't be buying one of these as I bought an IMX Pro rod last year, but man, they have a 7'10 ML extra fast spinning rod in the line up. that length and ML power sounds awesome! 3 Quote
TNBankFishing Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 If it ran the elite or x blank I’d be in. But a LTB with a new look? No bite from me. Quote

Hulkster Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 anyone know if it is actually a new blank? or is it just the LTB rod blank with different components and no paint job? St. Croix reworked the avid blank with the Avid X's by adding different components but I don't think they sold well as they sure didn't last very long. Quote
Super User MN Fisher Posted February 20, 2024 Super User Posted February 20, 2024 Another rod I won't buy. I did handle a new Mojo with the Trigon grip.....hated the he** out of it. Why couldn't they have just started a new line instead of messing with my Mojos...and now it looks like another line with 'comfortable' round handles is going away for this new, 'improved' technology I may have to start looking at Ark... 2 Quote
thunderblack Posted February 20, 2024 Posted February 20, 2024 revamp the elite without this handle please. Quote

I have the last gen Hammer (7' MH) and now I just bought the new model (Money Maker 7'3 MH). Absolutely love these rods. Looks and feels great. The 7'3 balances perfectly with a Tatula Elite reel. They definitely punch above their price point IMO. 2 1 Quote

Super User NorthernBasser Posted February 20, 2024 Super User Posted February 20, 2024 I just realized St. Croix isn't a site sponsor anymore. Quote
GetFishorDieTryin Posted February 21, 2024 Posted February 21, 2024 Eww. Those Trigon handles on the Mojo's feel like cheap plastic. Can't imagine sinking 4$ into one. Shame to see SC going this way. 2 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted February 21, 2024 Super User Posted February 21, 2024 Interesting. No interest at the moment, but then again I thought the handle on the legend extremes was a bit ridiculous and I ended up actually liking it after finding a 74H for 40% off. Never say never. 1 Quote

Randy Price Posted March 1, 2024 Posted March 1, 2024 Does anyone know where this line falls in SC family? Is it between a LT and Elite? What SC grade is the blank? Quote

Big Hands Posted March 2, 2024 Posted March 2, 2024 I held a Mojo Bass spinning rod with the Trigon handle at my LTS recently. I thought it felt good. Good enough that I was curious to feel it with a Daiwa Kage 2000 on it. Felt well balanced, but the reel foot would squirm no matter how hard I tightened the reel seat. I am always suspicious of fancy proprietary reel seats as I have had some . . . . 'interesting' experiences with them. The shop guy suggested a try a Shimano Vanford 2500 in it and the squirm was 99% gone. I think I could live with that. Great feeling combo. 1 Quote
steves191145 Posted March 2, 2024 Posted March 2, 2024 I have 2 mojo trigon spinning rods and don't mind the grip. I much prefer nice cork like on the LTB rods. Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted March 4, 2024 Super User Posted March 4, 2024 I noticed Trey McKinney was using these when he won the Lake Fork tournament this weekend. If he can catch 130+ lbs in 4 days on them I suppose it may be an alright series of rods. 😆 1 Quote

It can happen, too bad it happened on camera. Quote
